Of Estrada had even a smidgen of power, he would have beaten Povetkin. He outboxed Povetkin through the first few rounds until Povetkin realized nothing Estrada could throw would hurt him. Unfortunately, I expect it will be the same story with Adamek, but I look forward to a good fight nonetheless. If it's not televised, I may go in person. I've been wanting to go to one of his fights for a while now. It's just a pain because the Prudential Center isn't really within walking distance of the PATH station.
i think you underrate povetkin. povetkin was inactive and out of shape. if he was fighting a puncher, he would have had a different preparation and fought a different strategy. povetkin - suffering from flu - beat a sharper more talented and in better shape fighter, in eddie chambers, already. but estrada does give these small heavyweights a decent workout.
Are you referring to when he was offered to Fight Vova when Haye dropped out & Chagaev stepped in? I think the reason Adamek didn't take that is cuz it was on 3 weeks notice and he was still 200 lbs. I imagine he'd jump at the chance to fight him now. I don't understand you saying Haye has more experience? Haye has 23 fight vs Adamek 40 Championship level Haye won 2 belts from Mormeck, then fought Macca. He defended 2 of his belts one time. Adamek has been in 7 title fights. Adamek had a more extensive & successful Amateur career than Haye Haye's had a whopping 3 fights a HW, i wouldn't even count the Bonin fight either. Not like there is some huge disparity between them Volodymyr is the real WBA champ. Chagaev never lost it in the ring & beat Valuev. Valuev turned Vova down and Chagaev stepped in but the ****** ass WBA stripped Chagaev (or said the fight wasn't a sanctioned for Chagaev's WBA) cuz Don King runs **** over there. Haye's WBA belt is worthless. Volodymyr WBO, IBF, WBA Vitali WBC Haye throws alot of wide, winging, looping, brawler type shots. The fact that Adamek throws very tight, short, straight shots seems like a very good thing stylistically for him in the matchup. Tomasz is also a pretty sharp counter puncher.
It doesn't matter what your record is, Haye is the WBA Heavyweight Champion and has been following the Heavyweight path for over 1 and a half years, whilst Adamek just entered the HW scene with only 1 fight under his belt..... Wouldnt you think a heavyweight world champion would be more experienced than a boxer who only had 1 real HW fight? I would. You're talking about CW and all that, who gives a **** about that.... this fight wont be at CW if it happens it will be at HW and Haye is expereicned and more prooven at HW with 3 victories, whilst Adamek only had 1 official fight at HW vs. Golota and 1 unnoficial warm up fight which had no intention of being at HW. That being said, Haye should be the 60/40 prop favorite.
