My breakdown of the the usyk bellew fight

That's what I saw as well.

What he isn't given credit for is he makes the other guy pay a toll. I thought Bellew was using his legs way too much in the early rounds. He was using 5 steps to Usyk's 2. Big toll charge while not paying a toll himself. By the 5th round you could easily see the Bellew wheels were not the same. And then Bellew started dropping those hands lower and lower like most heavies when the fatigue starts to settle in. And bringing those hands back slower > punching.

It's a pleasure watching guys that use 12 rounds for their strategy and tactics. Even when he drops rounds like the one's he dropped to Bellew, his pace was forcing eventual problems. It's like one car is always driving uphill and Usyk is on nice flat land. The other car runs out of fuel much quicker and/or can fail mechanically. And there's Usyk doing a little more every round.

I think other heavies are going to have a tough time dealing with that. Most are plodders anyway & how many like using their legs for 12 rounds? Usyk throws nice straight punches and knows how to close the show as well.

He certainly isn't finished gathering heavyweight scalps.

 

Bet against who? I said from the start I think Bellew loses, so why would I bet on him to win?
Hopefully the hysteria over Usyk continues into his heavyweight campaign then when he runs into a world level fighter, I'll take that cash.

I have to disagree with the OP. Bellew was timing that ass, ripping/countering him with hard shots to the head and body, and having success imposing his will/confidence. Usyk genuinely looked befuddled and lost at times.

I had it 5-1 Bellew before I stopped scoring.

Usyk rallied and stopped Bellew, which was very impressive.
