james kirkland is the only fighter to ever knock down molina and knock down and subsequently ko angulo. kirkland also has an 85 percent ko rate, one of the highest in boxing. he has also shown the ability to come off the canvas to ko an opponent. and thats the guy you want your boy to fight who was put on ***** street with full sparring gear agaisnt ggg? not going to happen. and no, im not a kirkland fan but clearly understand the fight game. btw, i agree with you that canelo could ko james. but james could definately ko canelo. and that would definately be the end of saul canelo alvarez.
Ok, we can agree on that. I too understand the fight game and wasn't in any way downplaying Kirkland's awesome KO power. I still say Canelo defeats Kirkland a lot easier than he would Austin Trout. Anyway, off topic, but I noticed your location is in Mexico. What part? I am planning to go back to Mexico later this year and hope to move there to teach English hopefully as soon as next year. Are you American or Mexican?
what past are you talking about? other than the fact that canelo has had one of the worst four-fight title defenses in recent history, he has absolutely no questionable "past" in regards to saying that he is going to fight someone and actually not go through with it. right now, he is innocent until proven guilty. im almost 99 percent positive hes going to fight trout or lara and we will all have a canelo title defense to look forward to...finally.
the simple fact that he has never faced a live fighter regardless of how many times he has said I will take on everyone. I will believe it when he steps up to fright a prime threat like Trout when it happens.
That is his promoters' fault, not his. He has stated he wants Trout, so let's see if they give him Trout. I hope so. It would prove a lot to me.
A fighter can say whatever they want, I've lied before, haven't you?? It's a bonified fact that team ginger said they won't sign to fight Trout unless he gets a guarantee from Floyd. Who has nothing to do with Trout/ginger.
He has been calling out Floyd for a long time now. Floyd is the biggest payday in the sport. Hell, I call him out every day, but he never answers. That still doesn't prove that Canelo is not willing to fight the best. According to him and your point, he is willing to fight the best, but he just wants to know that his pot of gold (Floyd "Money" Mayweather) will be waiting for him and the end of the rainbow. I see nothing wrong with that.
But ginger's entire star is a fabricated myth. I see plenty wrong with having a 41 & 0 record, having ducked his entire division getting his shot at Floyd. This Trout fight must happen. Team ginger needs this, if he ducks, that's pretty damn blatant at this point.
I wouldn't go that far. You are starting to sound like a bit of a hater here. I mean, yes, it is true that Canelo's resume is not that of Ray Leonard's, but he is still young. We can't say he has ducked anyone. Ducking is when a fighter finds a **** ton of excuses not to fight a desired opponent. In this case, Golden Boy has just chosen some decent opponents and some pretty shitty opponents. I am not arguing that he has this great resume, but he does have skill. He has expressed willingness to fight against anyone in the division and that says something. Now, whether or not Golden Boy will let that happen is another thing entirely. I completely agree, he NEEDS this Trout fight, especially after tweeting "Canelo-Trout May 4". I want this fight! Canelo Alvarez is one of these Manny Pacquiao kind of fighters that is run by his promoters. At least he is being vocal about who he wants. Is that a sham as I suggested at the beginning of this thread? I hope not. If it is a sham, I think it is a Golden Boy sham rather than a Canelo sham. I truly think he wants Trout, but I could be wrong. JUST ANNOUNCE THE GODDAMN FIGHT ALREADY!!!
I may have agreed if it wasn't for the fact that ginger also co-promotes his fights. Golden boy does not have this mythical iron grip on him.
They kind of do though. Come on?! Canelo Promotions. LOL! He promotes Mexican women fighters in Mexico. He is a co-promoter like Cotto and Mayweather. They still fight for mainstream promoters. We are just speculating at this point anyway. If this fight gets made, my whole theory will be shot to ****. It was more of a speculation than a theory from the get-go. So anyway, all B.S. aside, who wins and how if they fight?
