    Round by round scoring:

    1... 10-9 Cotto
    2... 10-9 Mosley [19-19]
    3... 10-9 Mosley [29-28M]
    4... 10-9 Cotto - [38-38]
5... 10-9 Mosley [48-37M] (I think Mosley was retreating here, so I could see this as MC's round)
    6... 10-9 Cotto - [57-57]
    7... 10-9 Mosley [67-66M]
    8... 10-9 Cotto - [76-76]
    9... 10-9 Mosley [86-75M]
    10. 10-9 Mosley [96-94M]
    11. 10-9 Mosley [106-103M]
    12. 10-9 Mosley [

This was an excellent fight, and though I thought Mosley got 'Hopkins-ed' by the judges (rooting for the younger fighter), he was ALL class in 'defeat.'

HBO's Harold Lederman had it 115-113 for Cotto

Official scores: 115-113 (x2), 116-113 all for Cotto. Cotto UD

    This fight had four chapters:

    - Chapter 1: BRAWL (Rounds 1-4, I think)
    - Chapter 2: Mosley retreating (Rounds 5-6, I think)
    - Chapter 3: Taking turns advancing/retreating (Rounds 7-8)
    - Chapter 4: Mosley advancing, Cotto countering

I thought Mosley won all 4 of the last rounds, and I watched with the sound off, on purpose. Cotto did very well with his counters, but not as well as the older man did on the attack.

An EXCELLENT fight, and Cotto showed me a lot in this fight.

But Mosley should have won. He had the 'wear you down,' 'pressure fighter' on the retreat all of the last 4 rounds. The older man wore down the younger man, and made him adapt to the older guy's style. Mosley hurt Cotto with a body shot in one of the last few rounds as well.

Cotto is a very, very good and tough fighter. This contest will help him. Mosley was all class after the fight and he handled it perfectly.

Bottom line: Mosley got it done down the stretch, and made the pressure fighter fight off the back foot. Cotto did that well, but he did not outdo Mosley in the last 4, and that's why I have Mosley taking the fight. Until round 9, I had the fight even.

    Totally and utterly agreed.

Theres no way Cotto won that.

Mosely won it by at least 2 rounds.

HBO giving Cotto those last 2 rounds was sickeneing, I saw Lederman do that and I knew in my heart what was going to happen.

    Awful robbery.

Cotto took this easily, rewatch it and take your Mosley coloured glasses off this time around.

No, Mosley clearly won. I watched almost the whole fight with no sound on.

Yesihavearm -- I totally agree with you. I can't see Mosley not winning by at least 2 rounds.

Mosley made Cotto fight his fight the last 4 rounds. That's 'ring generalship.' Cotto is not a retreating fighter, and Mosley made him that in the last 4 rounds. That's why he won the fight.

And he hurt Cotto with a pounding body shot in one of those rounds.

I like Cotto a lot, and respect him. But tonight, Mosley got the same 'old guy' shaft that B-Hop did in Taylor I.

Mosley 'broke' Cotto the last 4 rounds of the fight. He was the aggressor, he made Cotto into PBF.

Clear win for Mosley, who 'closed the show' in the last 4 rounds.

The people who thought Cotto won this will be the same people that thought Tito beat DLH.

    Same situation.

I can see an argument for Mosley winning the fight, truthfully it could have gone either way. However Cotto's punches clearly bothered Mosley more than his did on Cotto. Cotto was the aggresor through most of the fight and in the eyes of the judges he not Mosley pressed the action. Mosley has always been a personal favorite of mine since the early 90's but, the truth cannot be ignored Cotto won the fight clearly by pressing the action. I disagree that it was sickening to see Ledermans card go for Cotto, he saw what the judges saw. I agree that a draw would have been an acceptable outcome too.
