    I beat an alltime featherweight for my championship belt.
    And I had a hard set of whiskers, for sure....

    The way you said 'became a champ too' I was thinking more obscure than somebody like ATG Saddler. As it is, I'll agree with hhascup and go with him.

    :thinkHmmm....Petey Sarron was decked twice in his title defense over Baby Manuel, and of course he was knocked out by Armstrong for his only stoppage defeat in over 150 fights. Still, that's an impressively short list for that many bouts. As Time Magazine said, he was a tough little Syrian, and he certainly won that title from an all time featherweight in Freddie Miller.
