Ok...now I went into this fight thinking that Pavlik was strong, powerful...but had horrible footwork and movement. I also felt that his jab was subpar.

Well, tho I still feel I was 100% correct on the first two, he does have a hell of a jab.

I had him down by 3 by the start of the seventh (as did two of the judges...if you had Pavlik up, or whatever...your insane), but he came out strong and firing. And eventually caught Jermain with one hell of a shot to hurt him. AND, with that said....it was a terrible stoppage.

I do feel at that point, Taylor was starting to gas (as he himself admitted...), and I think Pavlik either would have stopped him later that round or in the next....but of that flurry, he landed maybe 4 punches, 2 flush after the first right.

Taylor could have continued, and was not out on his feet...nor was he in any immediate danger (he was actually about to go down).

As I said, I think that right was a fight changer and that Pavlik wouldve eventually stopped him....but just not at that point.

Taylor felt that way to. Hense why he left the ring without talking to anyone. As he calmed down (and after he spoke to Manny I am sure), he collected himself and held himself in the same regard that made him such a joy all this time. He didnt whine, complain or threaten to fight the stoppage. He pointed out what he had did wrong and wants an immediate rematch.

If anyone questions that he is a class act after that....they are blind.

    Again...this is my consession....

After that right, even with Taylor COMFORTABLY ahead, I felt Pavlik had the fight no matter what. But anyone who says that was an ok stoppage is fooling themselves.

Now compukiller.....post my new avatar for the next few weeks...a bet is a bet.

    :verysad

And I hope Zakman doesnt take this as proof that he has a glass chin. How many other fighters wouldve eaten that right hand? Hell, HOW MANY BIG RIGHTS DID JERMAIN EAT AND TAKE WELL!

Oh well...as I said, I was wrong. It was a great fight tho and I cant wait the rematch.

I thought it was a very good stoppage. Taylor was defenseless and getting hit with big shots he couldn't see. He would have been badly hurt.

I at first thought he stepped in too soon and should've given an 8-count, but after I saw it again, Taylor was OUT. I was shocked that Smoger stepped in as soon as did. Not his rep.

When I saw it in real time, I questioned whether or not it was a premature stoppage, but the replay in slow motion convinced me that Taylor was out.

I had Pavlik up after 6.

And the stoppage was just fine.

Other than that no problem! :rofl

Watch the slow motion replay again....most of those shots either missed, were blocked or barely landed.

If you're going to be a man and admit you're wrong, OKAY, but don't try to pepper it by saying the stoppage was bad. That's bull****. Everyone on here with a clear head is calling it.

Pavlik landed an initial right hand that Taylor didn't see. Then he landed an uppercut from the right, and uppercut from the left side, and a big left hook when Taylor was being held up against the ropes.

Sue, those uppercuts and then that right hand all landed clean. Those shots ended the fight.

Agree on most of these points. Taylor should have taken a knee, but that is easier said than done. Taylor was clearly winning the fight with much cleaner punches. I had him up 3 pts. **** happens and Taylor got caught.

And don't try and pepper it as if Jermain was truly outboxing him nicely, the pressure from Pavlik was starting to slowly unravel him and wear him down with what he was able to land and the 7th was the accumulation of those factors.

Taylor didn't keep poise under heat, has a poor defence, lacks the boxing ability to even outbox a guy who's power and long with a good workrate, but otherwise ordinary and lacks the ability to hold onto an effective game plan.

Save for the KD round, fight went just the way I said it would SUES.;)

    BULL****.

Most of the people saying that it was a good stoppage picked Pavlik originally.

HELL, some are even saying Pavlik was up (which any boxing fan worth his weight knows that wasnt true).

I admit that I felt at that point the tide was turned for good. I felt Taylor was gased and wouldve been stopped....but that stoppage was BS. I watched it numerous times (the miracle of TIVO)....and he was going down and was definately hurt, but in no way was he OUT or in danger.

Being a man is looking at things for the way they are....I can admit the things I was wrong about. I can admit that Pavlik was going to win that fight. BUT THAT WAS A BAD STOPPAGE!

Wish others could do the same.
