    what a fighter I was.Never a world champ in my time,but i would be champ today.I was the opposite of the sound of my last name.OPPOSITE ! Licked top fighters of my time.Who was I ?

    If not for the "My countries champ" hint, I would have guessed... Lew Tendler.

    Panamanian Davey Abad was certainly anything but a bad fighter!

    Hint- I once dropped an iron chin,in victory.I could bang...
