he truly could have been great, but he belived too much in his ability so he didnt train hard and didnt have the discipline. he loves the streets

My favorite fight involving Zab was the Baldomir fight. Not that I dislike Zab but the way Baldo went to his backyard as an unknown, put on a heroic performance and upset the odds to defeat the champ was great. And it was an exciting fight which could have gone either way.

But Zab's best performance was probably the Rivera fight. If he had a better attitude and trainer he could have been a great.

Partially. Floyd got caught with the straight left but pretty much shut down that left uppercut.

The Rivera fight was a flawless display. Terrific speed and power.
Zab Vs Ward was pretty impressive also. The funny thing is in this fight he look more disiplined and pysically stronger than he does nowadays.
My personal fav fight was vs Spinks 2. He went to Spinks backyard for 150k and dismantled him. Discipline, speed and power.

I didn't see anything particularly special in that performance, outside of he has a poweful left and very good speed which we all know he does. What it showed me was that Zab relies too much on landing that left and has very little else to offer in terms of boxing ability.

Rivera was actually doing pretty well until he got hit by that uppercut. People confuse Zab being physically naturally gifted with him being this super talented boxer. He's not. He gets outboxed by great boxers who can handle his power every time.

What do they say, boxing is 90% mental...Zab has never been an intelligent fighter, nothing he or anyone could've ever done would ever have changed that. He is who he is. It's a myth that he had this all-time great ability.

He had all the physical talent but mentally he wasn't there. If he had got his head down and just trained through the short years that a fight career has he could have left a legacy and did what ever the **** he wanted but he didnt.

Glad to see people give that win a bit of love...Cosme was one tough hombre and Zab iced him..

    Solid win for him.

One of the most physically gifted fighters I've ever seen. If he was more focused and had some heart, he could've been great.

I liked Judah - Spinks II. He went to Spinks backyard and just shut him down.

Zab had all the physical tools a fighter could ever want. Dude could have been counted amongst the P4P elite if he only had a good head on his shoulders.
