If he had proper footwork PLUS his punching power (which we can't say for sure he carries to begin with based on footage) , wouldn't you say he'd be better off? Besides, the peak a boo style involves great foot placement as well. Different from the classic boxer, but still very disciplined. I'd stick with the advice of improving your stance. Pick and stick to a style where you're more body controlled. Think discipline first. You were too open and wild. One would think you guys weren't boxers.
You're all telling him to be like sugar ray Leonard when he obviously doesn't have the physique to box that way, he should box to his strengths not his weakness
Whose telling him to box like sugar ray Leonard? Good footwork is the foundation of everything else. Miguel Cotto has good footwork.. In fact I struggle to think of any fighter brawler or otherwise who pays no attention to improving what they do. He should box to his strengths and minimise his weaknesses.
I feel like my boots are a little heavy and hard to maneuver in also. Do you think that it's possible they can be hurting my foot movement, because I feel like they are a little stiff. I have the Jordan show boxers(the Roy jones jrs). Anyone ever hear any bad reviews or have any experience using them?
By the way I am not blaming my footwork on my boots at all, just wondering if they could be hindering my abilities a little
I'd say that they maybe uncomfortable so change them, but your problem isn't slow foot movement- its improper technique
Just because he reccommended the peekaboo style doesnt mean he want him to go for the KO in every fight, I agree with tmsbry that he could be more effective under that style short fast jabs to get inside still. Also I agree his footwork needs working on
