in Elgin Ok so im back from my fight in Elgin. My coach wanted me to throw long shots and try and get me motivated and win the first round and try and KO him to motivate me. So the bell rings and i come out and we both land a right hand but my oppoents is cleaner. I start to wait for him to come in and flurry with sharp right hands but my oppoennt was throwing more shots i was landing the cleaner shots.but he landed more on workrate. It was a great first round felt like Pryor Arguello 1 to me. The second round i started boxing and was slick as hell and out boxed the guy completly until the last few seconds where he landed a short right followed by a left hook which caught me off balance and made me stumble. The third was one sided in my favour the boy never got near me but i didnt do enough and lost on points. ill try and p[ost up a vid ASAP after the fight Alan Minter was handing out trophies and i aksed him if it was as good as Antuofermo-minter. He looked surprised as hell i knew who Vito was but then told me about him and i told him he ofught Hagler wrong and he agreed. He then wished me wll and i felt he was impressed with me this was the first fight i really had the confidence to stick and move and box normally
i lost i did alright like i said ill get some vids up it was a good fight like i said Minter looked impressed and told me to stick in
Sorry mateatsch I was reading your report, got to the part where you'd done well in the 3rd, thought "Right, he's won 2-1 then" and skimmed the rest!!!atsch
its ams so its points. i would have won on rounds IMO. it was a close fight and the crowd put it in his favour and the judges liked the aggresion and not my fast counters
yeh my styles more for pros as i always lose the first as im a slow starter normally this fight i came out good but got into a fight now i juts need to box and box and box some more
lol, dont worry ive just done the same! I thought, what does he mean hes lost, can these judges not count! Sounds like a good effort anyway, stick at it.
if you watch the last 2 rounds you would think im winning, just the amatuers its hard to recover from a mistake
:good Yer, always need a fast start, coming from behind is very difficult (excuse the pun!) like you say you may be more suited to the pros, but its good to get a good grounding before taking off the headguard. How many am fights have you had?
ive had 8. Ive trained with pros and im abit off but im working towards it and the trainer says if i win afew titles i can easy turn pro with him when im about 20
Good luck mate - win or lose stick with it and do all you can to be the best you can, you're a long time retired and too fat and old for the game believe me! I saw in Boxing Monthly that Minter lost his first 4 am fights so a loss here and there is nothing to get worried about as long as your giving some back and not getting bashed up. What club you fighting for?
