*Mods please dont move* Just cause I know afew guys are interested in how Im getting on and I really appreciate the feedback I get from you guys. So boxing in my hometown against a southpaw. Started well enough but got my lip shredded in half, literally. I was landing my right hand but was boxing within myself and not using my right feetwork. I did better when I counterpunched but I was lunging in etc.. 2nd round I dealt with my lip and got on with it and adjusted well and landed good rights but was still getting tagged abit too much I thought anyway. 3rd round I boxed all right but couldnt perform to my best for certain reasons. But I boxed well and was forcing the fight and my opponent was tiring abit but fair play he hung in and fought hard. At the end I thought I lost but my trainer said I won pretty good. I cant comment as I havent seen the video. But it was a close fight. The guy got the decision but i did feel I can perform much better. Theres a video to come so look forward to feedback.
I was just about to ask! thanks for the update, glad you got the experience but sorry about the decision. looking forward to the vid
Unlucky Greg, just try and get back in asap and you'll forget all about that. Good luck next fight son.
What style of southpaw was he? Did he look for the left or was he trying to land the right hook? Also was he more of a boxer or did he like to duke it out more?
He ****ed me up, what I had seen of him he was aggresive but he backed off tonight so I stupidly led and he drew me in, but I watched the video and it was close and I did better when I countered and in the last rounds I was leading and paying the price. Watching the video I ****ed up got my tactics completly wrong i the third and I could have easy won it IMO if I boxed proper. ****ing annoyed with myself.
chalk one up for us obnoxious southpaws :tong just kidding gpater, i am sure you did fine and if anything can take this as a learning experience for your next southpaw matchup. better luck next time :good
Never fear, you'll be back GP!! Southpaws are tough for anyone..the important thing is that your a quick learn and a student of the game, and you'll solve the southpaw riddle and go on to win!!
was actually thinking this morning; wonder how GPater got on? shame ya lost, but no shame in losing to your first southpaw can't wait to see vid
