You may remember, I posted a brief clip from my first fight. Well, I managed to get the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

Any feedback (positive and negative) would be really appreciated, I've got a few things that I'm not happy with. I don't care if you post that I'm ****, just give a reason if you do!

    I'm in the black... :thumbsup

    Decent footwork.
    Keep your hands up.
Bit wild with that right hook.

****ing kill your cameraman, it looked like he was trying to have a crafty wank with his camera hand, shaking all over the place.

That was a decent showing for a first fight.

He was stalking you a bit - shoot that jab, keep him off you.

    Did you win the fight?

tell me about it, it's my opponent's mate, I even had to take the sound off the video just cos of the constant stream of drivel pouring out his mouth.

Yeah, I'm used to being the outside fighter, this guys reach was massive and I stuggled to get past it... got frustrated and so whenever I could work my way in I wanted to make him pay and it turned into too much of a focus for me. I was thinking it at the time even but it just happened. I won, btw, can't decide whether I deserve it.

I fight at 69kg (I was 70 when I turned up for this bout tho), but for some reason my opponent got changed 2 days before and he's 75kg.

Why wasn't your opponents shirt tucked in?

Keep your chin down and your right hand up protecting your face when you jab.

Like said in the above: Good on your feet, a bit looping with that right hook. The Cameraman sucked.

Otherwise from what I see, you've pivoted, used your foot work and employed more defensive techniques. Also weaving a lot more and ducking and countering from it. I cant really tell who landed more, but technically you looked better off.

Is it just me, or is that ring tiny?

Tell the camera person to get a tri-pod. I have a few vids like this that my dad taped. Shaky as hell. It's hard for spectators to tape and watch without a tri-pod, especially if they are into the fight emotionally.

I know, it's like the first thing I ever learnt and the same thing my coach tells everybody about 10 times a session... I think the build up got the better of me a little (not nervousness about the fight itself, just about wanting to do well) and just did some stupid things like that. I also felt like my legs felt real heavy when I got in there and I spent the first bit of round 1 planted in position before I got my head together.

More pressure, and the addition of a straight 1-2 would have made that round completely one-sided, you had him whenever he was on the back foot.

You and I both have the same weakness. I have a hard time fighting against taller opponents as well. We both need to work on it.

Yeah, definitely. I posted a thread a while ago asking for advice on exactly this, and now I'm always trying to find taller guys to spar with. Well, I haven't done much since the fight, getting back on it after exams etc..

Still, having to get on the inside just doesn't come naturally to me

Do you have an vids yourself?
