Last saturday i fought my first amateur boxing fight I was really excited and nervous, it was a hell of an experience! The cheers, screams, the excitement... Damn! Prior to this, i had been boxing for 6 months. For this fight, i started training about 1 month before it, had to take a break due to exams. So here it is, i managed to win by points. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5D1um6XI5M&feature=youtube_gdata[/ame] My friend managed to upload the video for me. I am the boy in the blue corner fighting at 56kg ( though i weighed in at 57.5kg ) and the Youth Category ( <18 ) I'm turning 16 years old tomorrow . My post fight thoughts : I went into this fight too excited and nervous, which is seen by my excessive movements. I had moved wayyy too much. This resulted in me beginning to feel leg fatigue as early as in round 2! By round 3, deep inside me i felt like quitting. I was running out of gas due to my bad pacing. Another thing is my punching technique. I think it needs many improvements and for the next 2 months i will be working hard on pacing myself, punch technique, aggression and throwing more combinations! My 2nd fight was on the same day too for the gold medal and i managed to win it. Will post it soon. feel free to give feedback thank you. and yeah HANDS UP .

Awesome first bout bud. Loving the bodyshots! Try to keep your hands up though, wont be long before you come across someone who's quick enough to catch you. :good
Wow, really good movement and defense for first fight. I' hoping to just step into a gym for the first time next month. Looking at the trainer who trained Kelly Pavlik.
Ditto. This is how I saw it, especially the "chin in the air, hands down" part. That chin was there for the taking if your opponent had the skill set to do so. Otherwise, nice stuff for your first fight.
ok thanks for the pointers. i'll bear in mind about my chin mistakes and get my hands up more. thanks!
