my first fight is this week(sunday) i have been training for 3 years so i am a newbie with some experience and I'm fighting a kid who has been fighting since he was 7 and is really quick and i use my quickness to my advantage however im a little taller than him any advice?
Stick to the bascis mate. -Stay relaxed and sharp -use your jab as much as you can -be confident, you've trained hard for this -ENJOY! Good luck!
Ohh mate.. this is something else. For the rest of your life you will remember how you felt sitting in that little room, waiting for the fight before yours to finish. You say his quick.. but in what aspect? Hands? Feet? Head? The only advice i can give based on what youve said is that, its pretty rare for a guy to have super quick hands and super quick feet.. normally one will let him down. More often its the feet. So, double, triple jab and punches in bunches.
I am 16 i weight in at 165 and im fighting a kid at 170 my fight got changed sorry... thanks for the advice... i am fighting a kid thats just a brawler my coach said so it should be easy for me cuz I use my speed and quick footwork to my advatange... I will post a vid...
never ever underestimate any 1 just because there a brawler they could be a skilled brawler and it could only take one shot and the fight could be over if anything think about this guy more than the other i used to be just a brawler on my first few fights but my oppenents thought the same as you and they didnt train as hard an i knocked my first 2 out were as if they had trained hard they probably would have won me and kept me at range but i was fitter than them stronger an there fore i just smothered them and they got gassed by the 2 round then by the third i knonked them out or stopped them trust me on this kid. TRAIN HARDER THAN YOU WOULD OF FOR THE OTHER OPPENENT YOU LL DEFFINETLY NEED FOR STAMINA TREAT ALL YOUR OPPENENTS WITH RESPECT AND IF THEY DONT TREAT YOU WITH RESPECT THEN THATS A BONUS AN ADVANTAGE TO YOU KEEP TRAINING HARD.
try timing his punches. use ur jab. or just outbox him, see what ur skill level stands. u can always go to his body. good luck!!!!!!! have fun. don't overstres urself. keep all ur motions fluid.
ok so i won my first fight vs. the kid he was at least 15 lbs. bigger and just bull rushed me the whle fight but i slipped a lot of his punches and outscored him with multiple jabs.... how ever after the 2nd round i couldn't really feel my legs so what are some good ideas to get me ready for my next one i run 3 miles 4 times a week. and train 4 days
A lot of that is just nerves. Just get in the best shape you can and train hard and all that and it will get easier. Good job by the way. :thumbsup
yeah i will post a video sometime this week my coach has to give it to me and he said hes been busy with stuff so ill get it up a.s.a.p.
