Oh, looking closer now, the dark patch on the leg looks like a bone bruise. I got scared at first, thinking that your leg was the foot! ("Ohhhh, that's not a pants cuff; it's a sock!" atsch) Don't get freaked out (no one, except a Congressman arguing for a Right to Life policy, can diagnose over teh interweb), but my neurologist always checks for random spots of redness on my feet. Does the bump shift on top of the bones when you move your foot or does it stay put? If it was a broken bone or snapped tendon, I assume you'd know by now!
Yah, it moves. I dunno how it happened, more or less just appeared, but Im sure i did something to trigger it.
Huh. So it's not the bone and probably not a tendon. Haven't mentioned having no feeling in spots on the soles of your feet, so probably not nerve damage. I kinda doubt you've been walking barefoot in Guatemala or wherever, so it's no parasite. I want to say the bump is interfering with something and that's why you've got the red blotches, but damned if I can think of anything. Sure doesn't look like a bone bruise or some infection bubble. It's moving independently from the bone and you're obviously able to move it without overwhelming pain, so it's not like you need a rush to the emergency room. When I've had bumps like that so close to a bone, it was usually from a big blunt hit (from a bat or something, not :rasta though that's a much better hit to take) that the muscles were healing from and the bone grew to help out. Like when you juggle softballs on your fists to sharpen your knuckles. Except that doesn't explain the instep of your foot getting blotchy like that. :think
