Nah all of that's bull**** except the one against Whyte. First of all, a push is illegal regardless if Whyte was hurt, secondly the bell would have gone anyway as the round had ended, where's the ref giving Whyte the benefit of the doubt? Fury was controlling the fight, but he was putting zero beating on Whyte. Why call the fight off given the circumstances? Give Whyte the rest for an illegal push (believe it or not guys, boxing is supposed to be a sport.. There are rules) that may or may not have impacted his recovery.

That all said, if I was the ref I would have called the fight off at the earliest opportunity.. Terrible boring trash fight between two slumbering out of shape dossers (Fury weighed less than he did here than against vs Wilder 2, yet look how good and energetic he looked in that fight compared to this one)

None that I can really see.

All 3 wins were solid ones. A few scares in the Wilder 3 fight but the proof was in the pudding.

Well, Fury went down the first time in fight three with 53 seconds remaining in the round, and the referee resumed action with 33 seconds remaining in the round.

Does 20 actual seconds elapsing constitute a long standing eight count?

And then Fury went down with 17 seconds remaining in the fourth round ... and the referee resumed action 22 actual seconds later with the round clearly already over and Fury just walked back to his corner. And Tim Bradley said man that was a long count.

So, is taking 42 actual seconds for two eight counts a long count?

But who wants to spoil the party, right? Wilder sucks. ;)

    Lol, your so-called friend ?

Anyway, all of his wins are legit.

If you don't want to nitpick after a loss, don't get hit in the first place.

Yeah he didn't have to shove Whyte, but if Whyte didn't eat that uppercut, he wouldn't have to find excuses after the fight...

No boxing match perfectly follows the rules, so don't get hit...

    To be fair.

Seems like long counts shouldn't still be a thing today, though. Right?

It shouldn't take any ref 20+ seconds to give a fighter a standing eight and resume the action, let alone twice in one round.

The referee spent 42 actual seconds in the fourth issuing two standing eight counts.

At 20+ seconds a pop, Floyd Patterson would've survived the third round against Ingemar Johansson.

It's starting to get ridiculous, but it happens all the time now.

If you drop a guy with 25 seconds left in a round these days and he gets up, you're liable not to get to take another swing at him.

what he looked just as good as Wilder 2...he didn't have to go out of first gear because Whyte wasn't a threat like Wilder

Did your friend lose money from betting against Fury on more than one occasion?

Your friend is just a Fury hater, because none of those are valid criticisms.

Your friend is wrong, your friend perhaps ought to watch another sport of which they have a greater understanding of.
