My god this morning 50% here said Roy was due to win!

I think his fans were just hoping or deluded. Or both.

 

Yeah, I'm laughing my ass off watching the backpedaling to Calzaghe sold a shame fight threads. No power, despite leaving RJJ a bloody mess. No speed, despite beating RJJ to the punch almost the entire fight. Poor sport, despite the fact he was merely doing what RJJ used to do all of his opponents. A lot of jackasses hating on Joe C are just sore they called it all wrong.

 

There are a lot of Calzaghe haters around here.

Hate makes some people blind when picking a fight.

 

Sarah, you have to understand that 90% of the forum trolls on here know nothing about boxing and are fanboys of american fighters. Kind of like an entourage. They will NEVER give joe credit even if he beat dawson. Whether they'll accept it or not, the fact is joe is an ATG!

 

The one silly is the one who's trying to make it sound like Jones isn't shot, even Calzaghe his self said so and it's VERY CLEAR if you followed RJJ well enough that the man has been shot since 2003, don't expect anything fat greater in 2008. Best proof is that Jones was NEVER cut in his entire career yet he's cut here and totally inactive at some points.

Said it before and I'll say it again, there was a reason the fight didn't happen in their primes, Jones would have completely destroyed him and for little money compared to now(for Calzaghe).

nope. Most everyone here merely said they wanted Jones to win cuz they hate Calslappy. I certainly knew the fight would end this way with Joe slapping Roy against the ropes. But most everyone knew Joe was the favorite and were pissed he was fighting a shot Roy jones. I didnt see any massive turnover in predictions for Roy Jones.

 

No one said that Joe isn't getting any credit, Joe is an ATG, A special fighter and one of the great of this generation. However, claiming Jones wasn't shot when it was obvious and mentioned endless times SINCE 2003 that he's beyond shot is IDIOTIC.

 

Most of the time its only a few people saying that. But, the inferiority complex of most posters makes them think 'me vs everyone.' Thats why you always get idiots like sarah here saying that "50% picked Jones to win."

 

Guess you missed the video when Calzaghe his self said that a fight with Jones is pointless because he's washed up and completely out of it. If you think Jones isn't shot then you're a fool when it was clear since 2003 he was.

 

A lot of people write those things simply for the sake of discussion to make the fight more interesting.

The fact it Calzaghe was the favourite by a wide margin and he won.

 

Um, no. RJJ and Calzaghe are both old and have slowed down. RJJ ducked both Calzaghe and Tiger during their primes.

I am an American and a life long RJJ fan but I really do not believe he could ever beat Calzaghe.

I hope Jones jumps back on HBO with Lewis. At least they would have two out of three ring side announcers who know what they are talking about.
