Archie Moore decked Marciano at similar age, so old warriors still are dangerous no matter how fearsome the beast they face..

He appeared to hurt AJ at the end of the first & looked likely in the second.

I thought AJ settled in the third and looked good from there.

He was seeing what was coming from round 3 on.

Ortiz is pushing 50 and he rocked Wilder - so what? Povetkin is a strong fighter who hadn't lost for more than five years and had a better resume than Joshua. He was fighting well, but clever gameplan by Joshua, ride out the storm and jab to the body to lower Povetkin's hands and then start going upstairs..

It’s not that povetkin is something special, AJ is just a very poor boxer.

Yeah he looked good. I expected the fight to be a tough one for Joshua with him taking some hard shots but I didn't expect Povetkin to control so much of the fight he was winning for me prior to the stoppage.

Povetkin is always going to light you up if you stand right in front of him. Not sure if anyone else right now could of beaten that Povetkin. I think he beats Ortiz, Parker, Whyte and Wilder. Fury if fit with his size and movement could diffuse him.

Povetkin is the more skilled guy, was giving Joshua a lesson early, but those ten years and 24lb were always going to count against him.

Was not expecting Joshua to lose every round before the stoppage. Povetkin is a level above.

The bodybuilder threw away a lot of rounds, through being defensive. I think he was planning on sacrificing a few rounds, until Povetkin was ripe for the kill. Maybe he was scared on gassing early, and getting stopped. Alexander does have a high work rate.

Good post mate, I had Povetkin one up but will watch again. Could see It being level at the time of the stoppage.

I do think Wilder would have KO’d Povetkin.

Of course Wilder would have ko him. It would have been a similar fights, Povetkin looks good for 2-3 rounds, but then due to age starts slowing down, reflexes not what they were, and the bigger guys with a huge reach advantage catches him once, and its game over.

He nearly got KO by David Price.

Eddie and his team know the bodybuilders chinny, from the Wlad and Whyte fights. He'll be fighting more cautiously from now on. He can get away with it, even with a not so dominate jab, because his power is probably more than Klitschsko's.
