List can be as long as you like. What they did before 1987 doesnt factor into placing
Criteria: achievements/"greatness" with a little bit of H2H
If atleast half of their "body of work" was before 87 they dont belong in this list

    High Level ATG
    Pacquiao
    FMJ
    Hopkins
    RJJ
    Holyfield
    Lewis
    Whitaker
    Chavez
    R.Lopez

    Mid Level ATG
    Tyson
    W.Klit
    Morales
    Barrera
    Mosley
    Marquez
    Toney
    DLH

    Low Level ATG
    Trinidad
    Martinez
    Cotto
    Ward
    V.Klit
    Calzaghe

    Honorary mentions
    McCallum
    Wright
    R.Marquez
    Hamed
    Bowe
Haye(mostly because of his career at CW)
    Froch

Might have forgotten several people, did this pretty quickly. Im definitely taking suggestions

Cool list. I'd raise Ward a level and drop Foreman (at least one). Go back and forth on Cotto but would probably consider him a mid-level HOF guy. Where is JMMarquez? Not sure what to do with Moorer. Arguably borderline HoF, considering his dominance at lhvy and his wins at heavy. Is Sergio Martinez at least borderline HoF?

    Forgot both....damn
    Added them. Thanks!

Moorer didnt stay at LHW long enough IMO. but the fact that he was 220 as a HW and didnt look "blown up" like Holyfield and the fact that later he ended up being like 240 in the ring tells me he was a natural HW and just boiled himself down to LHW
I removed foreman because im not sure you can just look at his second career in isolation because he probably never would have gotten a title shot if it wasnt for the fact that he was famous from his first career. If no one had ever heard of him before the comeback he would've probably just be known as a old dangerous guy, he probably couldnt have gotten himself a title shot.

Off the top of my head - Whitaker belongs in the first, as does Holyfield. They should be ahead of Lewis and Chavez. Ward and Toney in the second, and then Cotto and JMM there somewhere as well.

But all in all a solid list.

    Probably right about Evander.
Toney Cotto are in my top 10 favorite fighters but i couldnt really put them above DLH and mosley
Im going to remove the levels

Contro, on paper this is a good idea but in reality I would have a hard time just remembering all the great fighters from all the weight classes in the last 30 years, let alone place them into separate levels of greatness.

Some names that might be considered

    Terry Norris
    Jeff Fenech
    Humberto Gonzales
    Azumah Nelson
    Khaosai Galaxy
    Kostya Tszyu

    -Tyson belongs at the top.
-Trinidad belongs at the mid range since he only lost when above his best weight.
-Foreman's regaining of the title automatically puts him at the top if we combine both careers. Only heavyweight regaining the title 20 years after first winning it.
    -Azumah Nelson at mid.
    -Terry Norris at mid.
    -GGG currently at low level.
    -Virgil Hill at low.
    -Michael Nunn at low.

GGG is NOT yet an ATG
agree with the rest but tyson is a top3 or 5 favorite fighter so i try to counter my own bias

You don't think GGG has a slight bit of ATG-ness based on his body of work already? Or do you wait until a career is over to evaluate?

Not really. Pavlik beat Taylor and miranda, GGG beat Jacobs and lemieux...neither is an ATG. 2 out of 3 GGG belts were awarded to him and the one he did win was against a guy who hadnt even defended it yet. GGG is a very good exciting fighter but his resumee is too thin for atg
I didnt put foreman in my list because atleast half of his "body of work" was more than 30 years ago

    That's cool.

GGG's comp isn't that good BUT he steamrolled every one who came his way, and he's coming closer to breaking B-Hop's all time defense record...I think. What if he steamrolls Canelo later this year? I think GGG's greatness has been confirmed, similar to Wlad's.

well GGG beating the defense record is based on his defenses of his WBA 'regular" title. Shannon briggs and fres oquendo are fighting for the HW WBA regular title so i dont think that means much. If he beats Saunders, jacobs in a rematch, canelo and a really good young fighter like charlo then he is an ATG IMO
All of these aggressive punchers steamroll their way through their opposition, their style, aggression and punching power "mask" their weaknesses. Think David Tua or tyson after prison

I don't think Hopkins unified his titles until his 13th or 14th defense against Keith Holmes. So 12 of his defenses were of his IBF belt he won from Mercado. Not saying I don't agree with you but GGG had a splintered belt just like Hopkins did. There are so many damn titles these days, and even though there were 3 major belts in the 90's they seemed more legit than nowadays, so I get where you're coming from.

I didn't mean to hack your thread bro. I apologize.
