I basically make my picks based on the talent i see in action and i was just wondering, as an experiment, two things... 1) who you would pick as favourites over my guys, at their best weights in a fight?? 2) What fighters at these weights do you think has even less opponents that you would favour over them? 1) Sugar Ray Robinson - Welterweight/Middleweight 2) Muhammad Ali - Heavyweight 3) Willie Pep - Featherweight 4) Sugar Ray Leonard - Welterweight 5) Pernell Whitaker - Lightweight 6) Roy Jones Jr - Middleweight/Super Middleweight 7) Roberto Duran - Lightweight Salvador Sanchez - Featherweight 9) Marvin Hagler - Middleweight 10) Thomas Hearns - Welterweight/Light Middleweight PS: i'd just like to say, stfu bohdi, before he comes in here and favours 8-12 guys to beat Jones, Leonard And Ali at their respective weights
I think Monzon beats SRR at middle and i give people like RJJ and Hagler a better chance over SRR than Monzon at middle.
You got some guys in at two weights for your p4p experiment...or do you mean we pick the best weight but you felt like listing some options? 1) Taking Robinson at his best at WW I wouldn't be picking anybody over him. 2) I think I might be tempted to pick Louis and Frazier to get Ali, but that might be it. I think these two would do less well against the field though. 3) Pep is harder to be sure about for me, but I pick Saddler to beat him. 4) Leonard would lose to Robinson for me, and I think Burley might be especially difficult for him. Put it this way, he has range and power in common with Hearns but has an iron chin and a superior defence. I'd guess that Leonard would maybe out-hustle KG...other than that, I dunno. 5) Whitaker is probably as good as it gets at lightweight. Duran and Armstrong are good picks here though, and I make them, styles. 6) Jones at super-middle is a very difficult one. Shallow division with loads of world class guys moving through it in its pre-history. Nobody who has officially weighed in at 168 would beat him.
Well i meant individually. If the guy who beats him is already in the weight class and on the list, then its irrelevant because this is my Top 10 ATG P4P list lol. Should've made that more clear. And i guess the point is the 2nd question..is there a fighter at that weight, not on the list that is even less beatable than my man?
Only naming fighters that I favour, not 50/50 or 60/40 etc, but just the ones that I favour to win,. 01. Sugar Ray Robinson - No one 02. Muhammad Ali - No one 03. Willie Pep - Henry Armstrong, Sandy Sanchez, Salvador Saddler 04. Sugar Ray Leonard - Ray Robinson 05. Pernell Whitaker - No one 06. Roy Jones Jr - Ray Robinson, Marvin Hagler 07. Roberto Duran - Pernell Whitaker 08. Salvador Sanchez - Henry Armstrong 09. Marvin Hagler - Ray Robinson 10. Thomas Hearns - Ray Robinson, Ray Leonard

Noone has less opponents at Welterweight - Quite a few at Middleweight do. 2) Muhammad Ali - Heavyweight - Nobody. Nobody. 3) Willie Pep - Featherweight - Armstrong and quite a few have a reasonable chance. I dont think any one at the weight would beat more. 4) Sugar Ray Leonard - Welterweight - quite a few at welter. Head to head quite a lot. 5) Pernell Whitaker - Lightweight - Duran, Benny Leonard, Armstrong and a few others. Duran, Benny Leonard, Armstrong - might have a better head to head record. 6) Roy Jones Jr - Middleweight/Super Middleweight - Fitzsimmons, Hagler, Monzon and others. All of these and possibly robinson would be favoured head to head against more boxers. 7) Roberto Duran - Lightweight - Benny Leonard Salvador Sanchez - Featherweight Quite a Few/Quite a few 9) Marvin Hagler - Middleweight - Monzon and Fitzsimmons, Just. Both would only just be favoured against more boxers. 10) Thomas Hearns - Welterweight/Light Middleweight - Leonard, Quite a few others beat him. And i would favour quite a few at these weights to be more people head to head. Though i am not sure any would technicaly have competed at Light middleweight. Good Experiment, that i think proved a pretty good point. And not a bad pound for pound list (Except for the Lack of Fitzsimmons and Greb who i can only presume have the asterix of not being included in consideration for the list).
1) Sugar Ray Robinson - Welterweight - No-one 2) Muhammad Ali - Heavyweight - No-one 3) Willie Pep - Featherweight - Henry Armstrong gets a 50-50 chance 4) Sugar Ray Leonard - Welterweight - Ray Robinson; Charley Burley; Kid Gavilan 5) Pernell Whitaker - Lightweight - Roberto Duran, Henry Armstrong 6) Roy Jones Jr - Middleweight - Marvin Hagler; Carlos Monzon; Dick Tiger; Ezzard Charles; Lloyd Marshall; Bob Fitzsimmons 7) Roberto Duran - Lightweight - Pernell Whittaker, Benny Leonard Salvador Sanchez - Featherweight - Willie Pep, 9) Marvin Hagler - Middleweight - Carlos Monzon (50-50) 10) Thomas Hearns - Welterweight - Ray Robinson, Ray Leonard, Kid Gavilan, Holman Williams, Charley Burley
