i know it seems wiered but i can feel my roll when i throw punches i can feel it throuh my whole body but somtime i get a headache becuase of it. im sure it's poor technique but to be honest it looks like im doing every punch alright :think bizaar can anyne suggest what im doing wrong?
When you're dehydrated the brain shrinks in size and pulls on the tendons that attach it to the skull, causing a headache. So maybe it is this.
Actually on second thoughts, perhaps you should consult a doctor before sparring any further. Just for safety's sake.
We understood that. When you shake your head side to side really hard and fast does it feel the same way?
How's your neck strength? I had a guy that was complaning about headaches... I watched him and it seemed like his head was being rattled around, even when he was just working the heavy bag. We kept working on his form, eyes to the front, chin down, and started him doing some basic neck training... That made the headaches go away. Just another guess to consider, hope it helps. Welcome to the board Coach Bob. Always good to have an actual coach here. Most of us are just boxers sharing our experiences :good I like your advice, I never thought of that. It may also be possible that his neck muscles are too tense, "strangling" the nerves in his neck. I had that for a while, it gave me migraine like headaches. Rotating exercises and the likes solved it for me.
If you are dehydrated you will get "workout" headaches... I used to get them a lot.. Stop drinking soda, drink more water.. Worked for me
might be a mixture of dehydrated and **** poor technique as i recorded myself doing heavy bag and shadowing and i saw somthing wiered in slow mo i saw my shoulders "thump" everytime i threw a punch! this thump is like when my punches are just when the punch reaches that point where it's either hitor gone throuhgt the target.... so i thinknim putting to much power in shots which are going to miss anyways? im also drinking the H2O more and doing neck exercise aswell.also these dont always result in headaches but i can feel my head been rocked around. phhh my thoughts might just be that im too tight with my punches, thus making my body shake
