I don't think words are required for what I'm getting at. Michael Katsidis, you are a true, "leave it in the ring", old school warrior. Gatti style (and all those in the past I haven't mentioned). Thank you for giving it your all, and not pulling out of an amazing fight, despite your gut wrenching loss. I can hopefully talk to my grandchildren about the war I witnessed tonight. Post something if you agree.
I find myself having less and less of a stomach for boxing nowdays, every fight I watch, I don't want either man to lose. I love Marquez and wanted him to win, but hated to see Katsidis lose, especially beat up like that. Each guy I watch has so much personality and likeability about them, even Abraham, who's getting berated today.
Me too. I know Mike came in with a heavy, but motivated heart tonight. It's really rough, to go throw a tough fight period. But I do believe, the in Mike's heart, his brother was there tonight. And it showed in the third round. He may not have won the fight, but Mike sure solidified me as a fan tonight.
See, theres no real honor in that anymore. I'm glad Bayless stopped it when he did. What is the honor of fighting your heart out and getting KOed when you get pictures of yourself out cold all over the internet as some fat, ugly, lazy, cowardly slob like Benjamamin Lickass's avatar? We claim that we need a fighter to go out like a man to earn our much coveted respect, but when they do, we berate them. What's the point of being a Spartan anymore?
In my eyes, Katsidis went out on his shield tonight. It may not be the smartest thing for your health, but it can show your true passion for what you're fighting for. And sometimes, that's all that matters to a person ready to go out on his shield.
iItell you even though he lost he showed he is a crowd pleaser we will see him in another fight again
