I wish him well in any endeavor that doesn't involve a fight with Kelly Pavlik. Seriously, he is a hard guy not to like.
I dont understand how you can say stamina was not the issue. If u watched his last 4 fight stamina has clearly been an issue. He would stop throwing for strectchesl. He said it in the post fight interview when asked why he didnt go fot the KO in the third. He was afraid to blow his load. He has to fix his stamina issues or he cant do this anymore.
I'm still a Taylor fan. This is one express I will not get off unless it once again crosses the border into the Pavlik Nation. My ticket says I must disembark at that point. For the first 10 rounds JT handed out a boxing lesson. I was hollering and screaming, and generally having a great time with it. Unlike most others I do not thnk the 12th round was the real problem. In my opinion, if Jermain had stayed out of that heated exchange in the 11th, the 12th round would have been completely different. I thought he won that, but it clearly took a lot out of him, and he did not need the round. The thing that worries me about Jermain's future is that he found a way to lose to Carl Froch. It was not Kessler, Calzaghe, Bute, Hopkins, or Pavlik. It wasn't even Andrade or Bika. It was Carl Froch, and that is extremely troubling. However, if Jermain continues to fight, I will continue to support him. He made me lose my "Little Red" avatar for a month, and I'm pissed at him for that, but I'll get over it. Good Luck Champ, whatever you choose.
I get what you're saying, but c'mon...."never earned the money the hard way."....I was under the impression that he "fought" for the money...
Yeah, I felt bad for the guy in that last round. When he was on the deck he looked ****ing miserable, and right before he got stopped he took a shot and winced bad. For a guy with so much amateur experience he's got so many bad habits and for such a good athlete he seems strangely stiff and uncoordinated sometimes. It's like he can only ever throw something that he's thrown a million times in the gym. Also, he does seem to fade but he almost never gets hit to the body. Someone suggested he switch trainers but when he tried that he looked even worse. I think it may just be that he can only work off of what he already knows and it'd take years and years to get him changed around. Anyway, he still sounds like he has his brains intact and I hope he doesn't take too many more beatings like he did in that last fight. Between him and his wife they should be having some super ****ing athletic kids and I hope he's all there to enjoy watching them play.
O missed the fight and I was wondering after the loss did Jermain do any interviews or did he go to the post conference, if so, what did he say?
Never post here again you gutless piece of ****. Don't criticise someone when you yourself dont have 1/10 of the talent, heart or desire. :hi: Good luck JT.
My feelings exactly. He made good money, got some questionable decisions over better fighters, and became famous. He just wasn't as good as the hype.
Might be a good idea if the site started handing out short suspensions for people being disrespectful of fighters or posters for that matter. Make folks think twice about pounding the wrong keys. My ignore list is getting longer though.....
In boxing its a rule: when a fighter combines speed with power, he sacrifices punch volume. Any fighter, not just Jermain, would get gassed by the tenth round if he threw 70 punches per round with everything behind it. Referring to the post fight comments, he also reminded everyone that stamina wasn't an issue...or did you forget that part. He just wasn't completely convinced that Froch was hurt enough to go for broke. It almost paid off for him. Unfortunately Froch is a tough guy with a great chin and a lot of heart. With the performance he gave on Saturday, he beats almost every fighter he faces. Stamina is not an issue.
