Depends where they pitch the CW. If Kovalev has to make 172, for example, he'll have to train damn hard, eat right and stay off the vodka to do so. It might force discipline for a fight he will already be highly-motivated for.

That's another way in which goin directly from the Yarde match into this one might actually help. If there is a catchweight, which I doubt there'll be much of one, he's already in fighting shape now, it wouldn't be all that crazy for him to dropped one or two more pounds and do it healthily.

Canelo is getting KTFO. I'm surprised he's taking this fight. I don't think Canelo is a coward but this is a pretty tall order. Kov is not shot.

Although if Kov has to drain himself, then I'm not so sure.

Long read. BUT 90% know deep deep deep down unless kov really truly mayweathers him or kos canelo (hel probably get a 30 second count, allowed to walk around the ring and such ala Joshua) any swing round, and I mean swing round where 70% of people thought kov won it, will go to canelo.

I really hope kov does it, but it’s business

If Golden Boy has taught me anything, it is that there will be some sort of limitations on Kovalev. No way this is at 175 with no re hydration clause. There is SOMETHING here, we just have not uncovered it yet. Maybe next to zero drug testing so Canelo can come in looking like the incredible Atomic Fireball Mexican Bowling Ball with HGH leaking out of his ears. Maybe I am being pessimistic, but these guys never ever operate on a level playing field, why would they start now when moving up 2 weight divisions?

I'd say 172 is the LIMIT. I hope its at 175 that way if Canelo finds a way to beat Kovalev legitimately he can solidify his ATG claim. Because at the end of day 175 is 175. Those are big boys especially for a guy that was at 155 not so long ago

If there's no catchweight or rehydration clause, this will be fantastic!

Kov defo trains like a demon for this. We could be looking at a rematch or even another trilogy here. That won't do his legacy or pension pot too much harm..

Kovalev's jab is the key to this fight If Canelo can't get past it he will lose. It's that simple.

As long as Canelo doesnt do a "ward" & batter Kov's testes all fight long he'll take the body shots. I'll say again....
Like always I hope for a great fight with the LEGITIMATE
best man getting the win he deserves!! Just for once PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!

"There's levels here. Canelo and GGG's level is being overestimated, Sergey as it has for years, is consistently being underestimated. But here's the reality, anyone who can say he outboxed Andre Ward."

I'm one of these people. It'll come down to this.
I'm not undermining Kovalev at all. At the same time, I really do think GGG and Canelo stand a bit above Kovalev. This with the coupled with the fact that Kovalev is getting older, I'm favoring Canelo in this.

But you're right. Canelo being a smallish MW with 5ft7/170 height and short-reach he can be drowned by Kovalev. Especially when he gets gassed. But I still can see Canelo push Kovalev in a porter-like fashion with his top-of-the-line upper body and head movement.

This fight will probably take years off of Canelo's prime
