Why does the boxing world allow fighters get away outweighing their opponents on fight night?

Isn't it like cheating basically? It doesn't make for a fair fight cuz both fighters are not on a same weight. So we won't know for sure who was better if both were at same weight.
    Like the Canelo-Khan fight,
Amir Khan was saying that Canelo must've weight 180 lbs the night of the fight. I guess Canelo rehydrated to a heavier weight. What's the point of fighting for a title for a specific weight class if fighters are just gonna blow up in size on fight night?

or Canelo-Smith. Max Kellerman and Roy Jones were saying that Canelo looked like a light heavyweight in the ring against Smith, a junior middleweight.

Re-hydration limits should be implemented for all bouts

I think everyone is mostly going to agree the sport needs re-hydration limits . Same day weigh ins would work too but there is still alot of room for error.

That's how I see it. I don't care about fight night weight, to be honest. If you're losing because someone put 10 lbs of water weight more than you, you're probably not better anyway. No way Canelo is hitting 180, he looks big because he's short.

No way possible? When Canelo was still showing his fight night weight he was coming in the ring around 171-173. That was in his early 20's. He's 26 now and the Cotto fight was the largest Canelo has ever looked. Obviously he's come in over 173 in his fights after he stopped showing fight night weight. If I had to guess he's averaging 176-178 on fight night. 180 wouldn't be out of the question.

Because it's literally inhuman and they will barely be able to perform. Making the actual limit has its difficulties already, anything beyond that will alter performances and will also drive a lot of future athletes right off the sport.

Even if they request a certain limit, that will also be too much. Fighters should make the weight limit and after that it's their choice. Coming in bloated or slightly above the actual limit both have their shares of advantages and disadvantages.

Couldn't agree more. It makes the weigh-in rather pointless. A re-hydration of Max 10lbs should be enough otherwise the fighter should be fighting on the next higher weight.

That's how Canelo take advantage. It's a legal way of cheating....

I can't see same days ever seeing light again, and there's alwa good reason for it. Back around the removal of rounds 13,14 and 15.

Fighters were cutting weight like is today but didn't have the time required resources to bail them out. Their bodies would start failing them and they'd still have half the round to go.

Just think how defennel essential, how weak and vulnerable you get just working out., just imagine feeling like that with a pro trying to take your head off.

Makes the most dangerous sport out there, to simply too dangerous. These a aren't robots like most think HUMANS. All chanting fmj, fmj USA USA fmj. He got some sick ass memories

That 10 ponds of water is required the get the fighter back to full strength..

That is the issue the fighter is only making weight because he had dehydrated himself..

Rehydration needs to mean hydration requirements. In other words you must be properly hydrated when you make weight.

For one, your example doesn't make any sense. If you're younger, wouldn't it be easier to re-hydrate since your body can cut weight easier? It's how Inoue could easily make the Light Flyweight and Super Flyweight limits, despite towering over all of his opponents. If he was a 35 year old man like GGG, do you think it would be possible to get away with that and still perform effectively? This is why GGG doesn't weigh more than 171 pounds during fight night. As you get older, it gets harder to cut the weight, Hopkins often would weigh in as little as 166 pounds during the day of the fight, yet the Bumluvkinites would have you believe that Canelo is bigger than Hopkins because of what he weighs during fight night..

Canelo stopped showing his fight night weight after the Angulo fight back in 2014 due to the negative criticism he was getting from the Bumluvkinites. In that fight, it was reported that he weighed 174 pounds, and this was his first fight at 155 aka Canelo weight. A year later he fights Cotton and there's multiple rumors going around that he's 178 pounds, some people even claiming he's in the low 180's... :jaja-no: If Canelo was weighing that much during fight night, he'd look like a juiced up guido like Pazienza during his tenure at Super Middleweight.

Daniel Geale TOWERED Cotton more than Canelo did, and Geale weighed around what the Bumluvkinites claim Canelo did.

Now tell me, who's the bigger man in your opinion? Mind you, Daniel Geale is 5'11 and Canelo Alvarez is 5'7, the same height as Cotton.
