Wish us luck, he has been doing very well the last week and a half in sparring, I have never seen him put out this much ever, the last time we fought he weighed 164, his weight as of now is down to 157 with a few more days I think we will cut it to 155 even but at this stage he looks good so I dont want to over do it. if I can get someone to tape it I will post the fight SkipDog hit me up when you get a chance.:good
good luck man... how old is he? if u cant get a video, at least try to get some pictures of him after he wins it
He is 19 its his second fight, he did well the first time out, but ran out of gas in other words he won the first two rounds becuase he threw away everything he had in those rounds but faded in the third leaving the ref to call it off. This time around he is not taking anything for granted a good sign, he has obviously re committed himself to training and he has taken it more serious than ever before. Here are some older videos of him sparring, http://youtube.com/watch?v=cHpoLGTvNYI http://youtube.com/watch?v=Jf0XYkpQgSo
looks alot better on the pads than he did in the sparrin so looks lik he has improved alot.2 weakenesses i noticed wer he moves on to the right hand and lacks head movement at times best of luk 4 d fite.
**** that aint the only thing that he is ****ing up with, notice how he will move around but when he is ready to punch he slows down almost to a complete stop before letting his hands go, but yeah he has gotten alot better since those videos were made, I stopped recording the sparring mainly becuase I just dont want him to lose focus, sometimes with a camera running things can change for you mentally
Sounds like his heads in the right place. Seems like that gives him an edge over most young cats these days. Best of luck and let the guns blaze man. I would be there in support bro. But Im hittin Dodgers Mets that day.. Look forward to hearing the play by play when you get back. Lets get together in August bro.. My main training partners are back and we have been going hard since Sunday. Looking forward to workin with you guys man. Give em' hell........
I fully expect a win here, there are no excuses he is in shape he is 7 pounds lighter for this fight than he was his last fight, so this means he learned something from that last fight (Boxing isnt easy) He knows exactly what I expect from him, from the moment that bell sounds our agenda in being there is to get inside and dog this man, no matter who he is or where he is from. The key is to keep him focused, he is in full fight mode now, cranky at the gym and at home his sparring Partner Jesse, god I wish I could pay this man he has took alot of punishment in the last week and a half helping us get him ready for this fight. so if he performs half as good as he has in the gym it should be a good win for him under his belt, but things change with amatures when that first bell rings sometimes, usally all that skill is thrown out the window the nerves sometimes eat you up, that is the only concern I have going in, how does he handle it this time out? the last time he did what he was supposed to do with the exception of not pacing himself well, he ran out of gas, this time he should know how to pace himself better. I think the loss of the extra 7 pounds will make all the difference here. if all goes well, I will have a Video of it, however I do not have anybody to record it my wife might have to work, but if she doesnt I will have a Video to upload. Thanks for the support, about a week or two after his fight I plan on comming down to Big Fish and getting him some work in
Good luck to your kid. How long does he train? I noticed at 6:10 that he had a problem cutting the ring, he was like walking or something. IMHO he should double or triple the jab more in order to get inside. He looks OK but maybe he should loose some weight in future not because he lacks strenth, he looks pretty solid, but he has a reach disadvantage. How much does he weight?
That was sparring from six months ago I have him doubling the jab almost always to get inside. He has come down in weight since those videos, he is down to 158 I wouldnt be surprised if he is down to 155 since I weighed him about a week and a half ago. He has been doing so much better in sparring lately I mean he lets his hands go alot more he steps around his man, keeps him turning so he can get off his shots and the other man has to block and reset his feet. beleive me if I had recorded yesterdays sparring or the sparring the last two weeks you would notice a huge difference, we have been training for three months now for this fight. We are ready I honestly hope the other kid is just as ready, I would love for him to be in a good tuff fight, almost a war if you would, those fights you learn from.
