Well, that didn't take long. I knew that would be the most controversial statement in that whole thing. I happen to believe it -thoroughly and from experience -however unscientific it may be. Tofu just isn't the same as steak. Carnivores may strain their digestive systems more and may even die of heart disease, but they hit harder.

Your getting predictable SH... another excellent read and assesment..

Seriously though, I strongly encourage that you venture into this forum more often, it is in dire need of the depth and insight.

Thanks. I usually come here on invitation only. Classic has me busy and I love the historical part of pugilism as much as the analytical part of it.

Greg Patterson has the makings of a technician. Be sure to watch his film -particularly the first two. Great composure and form. You are pretty good yourself in the squared circle -how goes it?

You need to throw your jab with more frequency but you've got ability. The lad you were fighting was too short to capatalise on your mistakes but you look like someone who will need to develop a jab of your own or your gong to find yourself been picked off coming forward. Your still developing and look very raw so your recent suggestion of training with pro's is at this stage unrealistic but theres lots to work on and you've got a well timed lead right and fast hands. You also look accurate with your flurries. You need primarily to develop:-

    - Your Jab- when you threw it it worked but you didn't throw it nearly enough. It might only land 2 out of 7 or 8 but you still need to throw it fast and hard.

    - Your power.... work on the correct full rotation of your body on your punches.. Slow down and take the time to learn to punch correctly while shadowboxing. I was KO ing people at 15. It may slow you down a bit but the benefits of not having to throw a million punches a round will help you in the long run.

    - Your hand positioning- looked undisciplined and will cost you as you get older. Find a position where they are constantly blocking. Your hands spent far too much time in no mans land when you weren't punching.

    Good though kiddo... keep training.

    Hey Greg.

Finally got a chance to take a look at your video..

A lot of good suggestions already here.

The good - You have good fundamentals to work with, solid footwork, you keep your hands up and you don't get wild. You have a workmanlike approach, and even though in the second fight you were getting caught with the better shots you were still walking the other guy down.

    Improvements -

Defensively - you are mostly relying on a high guard. I would suggest utilizing slips and ducks more often in there to let you be in position for counters.

Your jab - Others pointed it out already, you can make it sharper. I will just say that in the second fight sometimes you were smothering your punches. You looked like you had the longer reach, Using your jab as a range finder will set up other combinations and let you know where to keep your opponent so hes at the end of your punches and out of range.

Leverage on your shots - I was watching your footwork closely, I don't think you were getting full leverage on the punches you were throwing. Feel the power in your shots generated start from your feet.

When you have a guy against the ropes - Is a perfect time to maul him from all angles. To hit and not be hit. You were mostly just standing in one spot. Using pivots in this situation will allow for you to throw a lot of power combos and keeping him unsure of where the punch is coming from.
