Just fought tonight and won a decision heres the video http://www.youtube.com/user/brooner66#p/a/u/0/1Qsv2XHtr8c Any feedback is welcome.
I actually liked the guy in red in the first round, seemed faster and threw a nice right hand. But you managed to turn it around during the second half of the second round and it was all GPater from then on. Also thought that the other guy gassed and the body work slowed him down significantly. I thought you smothered a lot of your punches at the beginning, you could take your distance so you can unleash straighter punches. But I liked the body shots. Good effort overall. PS: What's with the rabbit punches? :blood
What weight are you fighting at now Greg? You seem to have grown a little since i last saw one of your bouts.
cheers pal. The guy I was fighting was abit dirty and looks to hold alot as I fought him before and he wrestled around abit and was abit dirty, so my trainer says take no **** at all and if he wants to hold rough it up for him so he dosent want to. As you say though I fell inside too much, at times I felt I boxed well with my jab but immediatly after I just fell inside and banged the body, probably because it was working. Weighed in at 63kg for this fight, normally box at 60kgs for championships.
well done greg, the film on youtube was a bit cack so i can't really make a comment.well done anyway:good
Thanks T. Thanks for the tips andriy. Really appreciate it, after watching back myself I could have outboxed that guy but chose to outpunch him as I knew he was unfit and tiring form my body shots.
I'm a boxing noob who's never competed, so take this with a pinch of salt, but here goes. When he threw left hooks he dropped his right and left himself open e.g. 0:29, pause the vid and you can see he's chin up, hand down. He did the same sometimes when he threw the straight right, leaving his left down and chin open. Trying for a counter whenever he did this would definitely be worthwhile. Liked the work to the lower body in round 2. He generally kept a high guard in close and tended to lean his head on you, so he was more vulnerable to uppercuts. A bit more movement would help, especially head movement (not quite as tiring as dancing around). I like the way you mostly kept your guard up and blocked/ducked most of his punches, you were a lot less open to be hit than he was. Careful with the rabbit punches, you could lose points for that. Overall I thought you won clearly, at least 2 rounds and maybe 3, good job. How many fights do you have? And can you say a bit about the training you did for this fight?
Thanks for the advice pal. That was my 16th fight and my 6th win, but 4th this year. For this fight I didnt know about it till a week before so I must have done 20 rounds sparring that week and some tough roadwork, like sprints and all that with my trainer.
