That's a good idea, and probably makes too much sense for the power brokers in boxing today.

Why would they spend a lot of money building up a undercard when they know that ultimately the only people that are going to buy the PPV are fans that can't resist the warm and fuzzy glow of nostalgia? They've got those fool's money either way.

People can order whatever the hell they want for whatever reason, opening a thread in a boxing forum to boycott a boxing PPV which you don't agree with isn't exactly wise nor appreciated. If you don't approve then move on, others aren't using your bank account.

This forum is for boxing opinions. It's a widespread opinion that this PPV is a pile of **** and a sham. It's good to get the word out on that, for the fans that might not know better.

    Sorry that bothers you.

I do actively disrespect this fight though. I completely and utterly disrespect it, and I greatly disrespect one of my own favourite fighters, Bernard Hopkins, for making it happen. Roy Jones has not beaten a top 10 ranked fighter for SEVEN YEARS. Bernard Hopkins is currently The Ring P4P number FOUR. This fight should not be happening. And people like you are encouraging promoters to wheel out crumbly old shot names for pointless mismatches that are dangerous to the participants' health. I hope you enjoy the show, and I hope you enjoy Roy Jones vs Evander Holyfield next year as well...... :dead

I'm not discrediting our sport, you are, and Golden Boy is, and Bernard Hopkins is. It discredits our sport when everyone acquiesces a shot name being wheeled out for the amusement of know-nothing halfwit part-time fans. Roy Jones has been shot-to-**** for years, this is beyond pathetic.

    He won't.

Roy Jones is more shot than Sonny Corleone in Godfather One

Roy Jones has not beaten a top 10 ranked opponent for SEVEN YEARS you ****ing imbecile. Why would I watch cricket or something?? I want to watch quality boxing, fair fights. Not this utter shite between a 45 year old and a guy who got KTFO in 1 round in his last fight.

No, but he owes boxing ****. He owes it to boxing to not fool idiotic 'fans' like you into thinking this is a legitimate contest, when it patently isn't. He owes it to boxing not to drag the sport into the gutter with freakshow fights against shot fighters.

He hasn't earned the right to handpick a shot name and beat him up for money. No-one has that right. He has the right to pick his next opponent from a list of acceptable, suitable candidates. A shot, finished, empty shell of Roy Jones is not, to any knowledgable fan, an acceptable or suitable candidate.

I don't know why I'm reasoning with a braindead ***** who spent 6 months wanking over Joshua Clottey, making 10 threads a day on how he was going to kick Pac's ass, and then after Clottey lost every single round, still tries to go round this forum judging and criticizing others. You're a ****ing ****rag and a joke who knows nothing whatsoever about this sport. Enjoy tonight, and enjoy Julio Cesar Chavez Sr vs Jeff Lacy next year.

 How the **** is greatness on the line?!?!? That's the most bizarre comment yet out of all the horribly ******ed comments in defence of this utter shambles. Greatness is not on the line. Nothing is on the line, but especially not greatness. That is the one thing that is nowhere ****ing anywhere near the line, because Roy Jones hasn't been anything even resembling great since 2003, and it's ****ing 2010! Both of these guys sealed their greatness years and years ago, this is THE MOST POINTLESS FIGHT IN HISTORY!!!!!
