I don't even have cable so obviously I won't be buying it. Still comes down to freedom of choice and personal preference that everyone is allowed to make on their own. Who are YOU or ANYBODY to try and take that away from anyone?

 

For some morbid reason people may buy this fight but the whole event is a sham. The fight should not be taking place after Jones was iced in a round by Green, who should deserve the fight against Hopkins.

I agree with your reasoning behind not getting this fight and advising other to do the same.

I accept the fact that this fight means absolutely nothing and is horrible for boxing. But Roy is my favorite fighter and I always buy his fights, this is most likely his last time in the ring, so yes I will for sure buy it.

 

I find this thread most outrageous as many others alike - to sell an idea so that people don't get the products that companies are selling - I mean what is the motivation behind such a behaviour? In my personal view, it's not definitely defending the boxing fan from future promotions and televised shows that can happen based on the stats of this pay per view! It's a contradiction in itself if people buy this event and it's not worth ( for them) to see... There is a misconception here: If a boxing event turns out to be most unentertaining, then it can be either due to pure chance or due to the poor selection of fighters or both... Since both Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr are experienced fighters who are sound/creative technically and are physically fit to the task, the fight can be entertaining (OR NOT like any other fight)... What bothers me the most is that the thread starter suggests that the fight is fixed and we all know that none of these two characters would accept it even if it was to feed their children. B'sides that, nothing else bothers me, including Tyson-Holyfield III, Erik Morales vs Jose Luis Castillo at ww, Oscar De La Hoya vs Winky Wright, Jeff Lacy vs Tito Trinidad at lhw, A double bill of James Toney vs Ray Mercer, 1st in a boxing ring then in an MMA cage...People are smart enough and free to make best use of their hard earned money!
