I'm not buying it but I think it's absolutely worth watching if you're a true boxing fan and not just a Pacquiao fan.

No, it's going exactly as I expected, because I posted it in the General which is full to the brim of morons like you who started watching boxing about a year ago and don't understand the first thing about it.

In the Classic, people do understand what last night's farce was all about:

But hey, I hope you and your pop in DC and your brother in ****ing Nashville and your other pop in a trailer park and your stepwife in Alabama all got their fifty bucks worth at their "fight parties"!!

I tried as well, and as expected I got lashed with abuse from the part-time fans on this forum who think it's fine for any big name to get a big fight, no matter how shot to **** he is.

Here's hoping NeckBreakn and the rest of these ****tards shell out another $50 to watch Roy Jones vs Evander Holyfield in the summer... :dead

Me aswell but what can you do.

You knew as soon as B-Hop passed on Danny Greens $4 Million to fight against Jones for money it wasnt about his legacy anymore.

I mean Green whooped Jones in 1 ****ing round and some of Jones fans bought into the fact the ref stopped it early etc etc.

Imagine if the ref let the fight continue. B-Hop never wanted any part of Green after that.

How they even sold this to there fans is beyond me.

I've seen the fight at my friend's house and it didn't cost me a penny. There was a lot of free food and drinks!:D

Same here. I have been absolutely shocked by the backing this fight got on this forum. After Jones was iced in a round by Green, I was pleased because I felt certain that there was no way in hell they could then make a Hopkins-Jones fight, it would have been a complete joke. But clearly I underestimated the astounding levels of ******ation in the boxing fans of these times, because the fight was made and even though Jones hasn't beaten a top 10 ranked opponent for SEVEN YEARS and is 0-4(KO'd twice) in his last 4 fights vs top 10 ranked opponents (Tarverx2,Johnson,Calzaghe), these morons were sold on it on some lame and fake pretence that there was a 'score to settle' etc. Maybe the ******s will think twice next time before supporting a sham fight featuring a shot name... Then again, maybe not. NeckBreakn will probably pay for ringside seats to Jose Luis Castillo vs Jeff Lacy....

The bottom line is, boxing fans if they are true fans of the sport should care about match-making. Jones in no way merited a fight with the p4p#4, that just shouldn't have been permitted. We are fortunate he didn't get badly hurt, which only didn't happen because B-Hop looks to have slipped dramatically since the Pavlik fight. Boxing fans should have ethics and standards when it comes to supporting fights, we shouldn't lap up any old **** promoters try to sell us on. That's me done on the subject.

Well Said, and i feel this part of how these fights happen is what is wrong with our sport.

Two old names like B-Hop and Jones make more money than say a Prime fight between

    Bradley vs Peterson.

This is whats wrong with our sport two old guys well past it both make 5 to 6 million a peice while top 5 guys in any division some still havnt signed for a million dollar fight.

    Lets just hope
Vazquez and Marquez are getting at least a million each for the 4th fight which we know as fans will be ****ing well worth 50 bucks instead of to 100 year old guys that are defensive as ****.

Exactly. These morons enable promoters to make cash off shot names. It's one of the worst things about boxing. But judging by this thread, it'll never end. The sheep will always pay money to see a big name, even if he is decrepit and pathetic. It's tragic.

Meanwhile, you started another thread about how "shot" Hopkins is, saying you were sent highlights and didn't pay for it or watch it live.

Pretty comical; you obviously were interested in the fight and outcome of the fight yet you are soooooo passionately pissed about people paying for it.

    You're a joke

Not really dumbass. I didn't pay for it, therefore I didn't support it. I was angry when Jones fought Calzaghe, I was angry when Jones fought Green, in the same way I was when Hopkins signed to fight Jones. But I'm not going to stick my head in the sand and pretend that these fights weren't happening, I can only know how shot RJJ is by seeing footage of him fighting.
