Leonard v. Side note, the commentators mentioned that they were using smelling salts- no wonder they fought like savages the entire bout.
Very good entertaining bout, I thought Leonard often times had the cleaner punches with Duran plowing forward in a savage manner. Any time Leonard created a little space he won the exchanges but Duran was not to be denied. Again- smelling salts...ridiculous. Very unsafe.
I knew before clicking on this thread that the OP would have this fight scored for Leonard. I scored Ali/Frazier 1 7-5-3 for Ali 8)
I write out scorecards for quite a few bouts and I was surprised considering how it is viewed by many boxing fans. Seems to me that Duran benefited in the court of public opinion by being the underdog coming in and Leonard having never really been tested to that level.
Hey thats a pretty good scorecard. I scored Pac vs Sinsgurat 120-107 for Pacquiao. What was everybody elses score?
Seems to me that Leonard benefited from you not having the slightest clue of how to score a fight. Hint: the guy that is beating the dog **** out of the other guy is usually the one that takes the round.:good
I dont mind if someone scored the bout for Leonard but you would have to give every close round to Leonard including the even rounds. You're scorecard has Leonard winning and you still have quite a few even rounds. So its possible for a judge to have Leonard winning 10-5 with your scorecard if he felt pressured to not give an even round.
Close fight, if the even rounds go to Duran he wins, so I see it either way. The Ring and NY Times also scored the fight for Leonard.
I just can't get over this. :rofl @ Leonard getting the better of rounds 5-10. Leonard came on strong late once Duran had started to settle down a bit, having already had the fight in the bag. Duran dominated the first 10 rounds. You know Duran was the hispanic guy, right?
