I was banned for several days for bad language, so I made a video about the fight and it's doing great views over at YouTube. I know some here have seen it because the most links to the video are from EastSideBoxing. I don't know who posted it, etc., so I'm just going to post it again: [yt][/yt] The title of the video is: "Boxing: Margarito KO's HBO Fraud Cotto & Paul Had The Pick" The video has also found its way onto Cotto's official site, based on the sites linking to the video which are listed in the 'statistics' part of the web page. I used a bunch of stills from the fight as well as some "Rocky" music, some editing techniques and threw it all together. Enjoy!
Thanks, Reg! p4pdabest: I have a bad mouth. Gotta watch that. No worries, though. I took my ban like a man! good:thumbsup
 A certain poster described you perfectly, you come around when theres big fights, talk a lot of **** and call fighters frauds/pussies whatever and act like you're the only person that knows anything about boxing.
I used to be here all the time, and have been involved in 'net boxing since around '93 or so, the time when rec.sport.boxing.pro newsgroup made its appearance. I don't have as much time to come here as I once did, so I stop in when I can and make the picks I know something about. I'm certainly not batting 1.000, but my record is good. One guy I can tell you who's a good prognosticator on the main part of the site is Stuck In A Moment. He's a pretty serious bettor, and those guys have to know their stuff. I'm not the only one who knows anything about boxing, but I know my stuff and when I know something that someone else doesn't I'm not afraid to say that. I sent this video out to a number of boxing writers and heard back from a few, mostly from people who picked Margo. I'm not going to get into a bunch of names, but one guy who picked Margo was like "Yeah, it was a joke the way HBO handled Cotto," or something to that effect.
Fair enough But I'll say that the whole 'Boxing expert' title and stuff the way it was put together was quite funny, even if I disagree Cotto is/was a fraud.
Ha ha ha! Thanks! Look, you have to have fun with this stuff. I have been asked to do some boxing work and have followed the sport closely for years, that is true. I do know the game and have been writing about it for a long time. However, nobody knows who I am and the chances are I will never cover the sport on any real level. So, the 'boxing expert' thing was just to mess with the media people who call themselves experts and just to drive home the point that it's not about what you call yourself or what others call you, it's what you actually know about the sport and individual fights and fighters. I'm glad people got a kick out of it. There are several amateur boxers who have been going back and forth with me in the comments, and even though some are pissed at me, it's all in fun. Cotto is not a fraud. He is a fantastic fighter. Again, part of the fun of the video is to show him like he was little more than a club level guy and make Margo look like the greatest fighter ever. The deal is that the "Cotto Myth" was totally out of control, and that's what can happen when HBO gets rolling with it's hype machine and the country the fighter is from starts sponsoring the fights.
The looks aren't what they once were, that is true, but let me tell you - the girls aren't complaining. good:thumbsup
"...To me that's not the real question - the question is what didn't you see? How could you not see this coming?.." :rofl Classic, that's good ****, Paul.
Hype jobs rarely take big fight. Cotto took a fight against a dangerous bigger guy and as acomplished enough not to be called an hype job or a fraud. So he lost, it happens to boxers when they take the fights.
San Rafael - Thanks, man. I know that your eyes were clear about this fight, and you made the right call. Great work! Jambon - Good point. Cotto had guts, have to give him that. More so than Floyd, or Shane.
