With than a week to go I'd like to submit my preview of Mayweather/Ortiz. While I will withold final judgment intell after the weigh in. I don't think anything is going to happen to make me change my mind.
    The fighters
What Ortiz brings to the fight is that he is a big agrisive southpaw. We can speculate as to rather or not he is prep work in Mayweather's view or not. What is for sure is that for Mayweather Ortiz is the fight at hand. Ortiz has power he has put down almost everyone he's fought. He has also been drooped and stopped.
Mayweather is master counter-puncher. Has one of if not the best defense in boxing right now. There are questions as to rather or not age he's 34 and a long layoff will take there toll on him. He is known for being a slow starter and suposdely has issues with southpaws, Ortiz is a southpaw.
    The fight.
I expect Ortiz to go after Mayweather from the opening bell, and try to take advantage of Mayweather's slow starts. While he's known for his slow starts usualy the first four rounds. How many of those rounds dose Mayweather acatualy lose? If Ortiz wins 2 of the first two rounds he's doing really well. Not in the big picture of the fight sense though. Despite his slow starts Mayweather dose not give up many of the early rounds. While Maywather dose better with orthodox boxers than he dose with southpaws (everyone even southpaws do better with orthodox boxers than they do against southpaws). His record shows that after a few rough rounds it's clear sailing from that point on for Mayweather.
For what ever reason Mayweather oppoents tend to underestamate him. Are they not paying attion? Do they not watch his fights or 24/7? They all seem to think that all he dose is party. They also have the same game plan which never works. Listening to Ortiz on 24/7, I belive that he is falling into that same trap of underestamating Mayweather. It's not that he's good enough to beat Mayweather anyways, but why dig yourself another hole? No one in boxing is more prepared physicaly and mentally to fight in the sport of boxing than Mayweather is. (I think he's lieing when he says he dose not watch film of his oppoents)
Ortiz can punch which means that possibillity is always there. However Mayweather has shown that he can take a punch.
Once Maywther gets his barings usualy the end of the fourth or the start of the fifth round. He's left his oppoent in the dust. Since they did not pace themselves they don't have enough in the tank to keep up with Mayweather. Even if Ortiz manages to take all of the first 4 rounds, there are still 8 more to go, do the math.
    The result
Ortiz's agression will allow Mayweather to do what he dose best, counter-punch. While Mayweather is not the most active puncher he's more agresive than given crdit for. I don't think Ortiz is going to be prepared for that. So far none of Mayweather's oppoents have been. If Ortiz keeps comming I see Mayweather in about 9 rounds. If he wises up and trys to box he dose not have the skills or size (Mayweather has longer arms) to out box Mayweather in which Mayweather wins a wide decesion.
