    pretty much carry on doing what he's doing. beating jmm does nothing, but if he then defeats a top 10 opponent in a further defence he cracks it :good

    Prety good lists.

    My only gripe with the first one is that it has Jeffries and Sullivan a bit low.

    In the second list, I think thae picks are all plausible, but I fancy that Dempsey and others would do better than you think.

    they both scored low on resume. for me there isn't enough in there.

    I measure on legacy, resume and h2h. by making a choice to draw the colour line they kind of limited who they could fight and unlike johnson (fought the guys earlier in his career) and dempsey (promoter's choice not his) I do hold them responsible. victories over Johnson and Jackson respectfully would have made all the difference as it could then be genuinely said they faced the best possible opponents.

    Still over 100 years ago and they make my top 20 list, considering how many boxers followed it aint too shabby right?

    I think Langford is under rated as a hw, plus i have two active boxers ahead of them so taking that into account I think I'm happy with my pacing of them.

    as for h2h, it's alle ach to their own isn't it, I guess everyone on the forum would have a different list of picks; it's all just fun really.

    I think you've formulated two great lists. I'm particularly fond of the second H2H variation, only feeling Foreman should be moved up a couple spots and little more. Good reads.

    I used to have foreman very high h2h but on second thoughts I just can't see him getting beyond the jab of holmes, lewis and wlad. I think Tyson beats him in a lyle type brawl with foreman staying down after the second knockdown.

    until recently, however, i had him beating all 4 of those.

    I don't think that the colour line damages Sullivan and Jeffries as much as some people do, because those choke points come prety late in their careers. Even if they loos, it dosn't make that much difference to their resume.

    Sullivan was almost certainly too far gone to beat Jackson, so all that changes is that Jackson beats him instead of corbett. Jeffries had enough left to manage a loss to Johnson, even when past his prime. A win over Johnson would have been a significant boost, but a loss would have left his title reign prety much intact.

    No way Marciano loses to all 4 Dempsey, Langford, Frazier, and Holyfield. No way. He goes 3-1 against that crew definitely.

    Thankfully you rate Liston as I do, but you terribly underrate Marciano. He was the best of the Swarmers.
