In November I got in a fight. It went to the ground and I ended up taking a stiff headbutt to the nose. Bled profusely out of my right nostril and out of a tiny cut on the bridge of my nose. Gave the cut time to heal up and it looks like there's a small bump on my nose where the scar is. If I open my mouth and raise my eyebrows (so the skin on my nose stretches), the area around the scar underneath the skin turns white (kind of like when you make a fist and your knuckles turn white). Then in January I got NAILED right on the bridge of the nose in sparring, and ever since then my nose has been perpetually sore right on the bridge. I don't think it's broken, because it doesn't move much if I try to move it. It might always be sore because I have a habit of always taking one good shot to the nose every time I train, but I don't know. I didn't think it was going to be an issue, but last night I was fighting a guy who was built like a brick **** house and hit like a Mack truck, and all I kept thinking was "if I let him hit my nose, it's going to shatter and they'll stop the fight." Also, he only came up to my shoulders and was STILL out-jabbing me like crazy...every time I threw a jab, he threw one and it hit me up on the forehead. Didn't think much else of it until after I watched the tape--if I could have got my jab going better, I might have won the fight and/or gotten significantly less beaten up. But every time I threw a jab, I would tun my head to the right--I think I was subconsciously protecting my nose. It worked, because I didn't get hit in the nose even one time, but I ate a ton of punches that I ordinarily would have slipped or caught on my right glove in sparring. Also, turning like that prevented me from getting anything off except single punches. So is there anything I can do for this? Ice, maybe? Take time off sparring (don't want to do this)? Break it and let it heal up (definitely don't want to do this)??? Or do I just need to get used to the fact that I have a ***** nose and just take it like a man? Sorry for rambling. Go easy on me, I just got beat up 24 hours ago!
its been well documented that a nose will only break or bleed so often and then thats. my mate who i boxed with had his broken 4 times while we boxed, it bled heavily at first too after light taps on his probiscus but stopped sometime after the first break.
i have a deviated septum which is a technical term meaning bent snotter.same problem with air:twisted:
Yeah obviously my first idea was to see a doctor, but I HAD no health insurance...but hey, this health care bill just passed yesterday, so now I can feel free to break my nose anytime I want!
Oh, you're American. In that case, LOL at your stupid health-care system. Isn't there even a free clinic where you can get it checked?
