I wouldn't say he lacked heart, it was an incapacitating foul- the reaction just looked weird to me, what with the fit and all.

I'm am now a fan of Dirrell, the first I saw of him was the Froch fight and I never wanted to watch him again but then he put forward an awesome display for 10+ rounds against Abraham and now I can't wait to see him fight again.

Well if you think about it, given how fickle the boxing public is, for Dirrell and Ward to make the semi- finals Ward would have had to lose to Dirrell. And for Kessler to make it and face Ward in the quarters he'd have to have beaten both Froch and green, coming off two victories, which means the fight would probably be in copenhagen and we could possibly see Kessler as the favorite.

Same with Dirrell, from what I gather many feel that Abraham would have gotten the KO, Dirrell was slowing down, and his chin might be damaged, so both Americans despite their talent could end up being underdogs in European venues. Would be interesting.

dirrell was winning the fight for the reasons i stated he would. i'm a big fan of dirrell, but i thought he exagerated the whole knocked out thing when abraham landed the blow. i believe he knows abraham comes on strong later in the fight, and his wife certainly knew that, so i think he played the whole thing to get the win right there and then instead of risking it. i could be wrong, and i hope i am, but that's what i feel.

I dont get why so many are certain that aa would have gotten the kayo

the one time he caught him legally flush, dirrell recovered quite quickly. i saw nothing to suggest that aa would have stopped him... Dirrell was winning the eleventh round and would have won the 12th imho

Dirrell was faking big time. Look at his pathetic crying later on. Why cry if he was not at fault? Knowing AA I believe he was getting to Dirrell and eventually would have knocked him out JT style. There was still plenty of time for AA to put the hammer down.

that is a very one sided argument, altho i do see your point, aa did throw the punch knowing dirrell was down, i do not doubt that. but for one second you cannot consider the possibility that Dirrell was faking it?

Dirrell needs to act like this:-

If he wants to convince and fool everyone he is Knocked out.

Hope and bias. Dirrell had given Ham a schooling, so if youre a fan of Ham its easier to believe e was coming on strong

Abraham looked guilty as ****. LOL look at that mother****ers face. He knew what he did was dirty. He raised his hands right after the KO shot like he was going to sneak that **** in legal or not. Talk about a ****ing actor. "How many rounds was I down?" Trainer"..at least 7 no more than 7" Then he asks again Trainer "Probably more than that" :rofl:rofl

He raised his hand up to his face because that's what he's trained to do. Take a heavy punch, protect yourself. That actually shows he wasn't thinking.

And why would he want to win that way in front of his home crowd. The guy's a boxer, not a *****.

My only disagreement with this post is the use of the word "cowardly"

Having said that, Dirrell does remind me of other fighters(JOnes and Floyd) who use fear as a motivating factor.

The way Dirrell broke down after the fight reminded me a bit of PBF breaking down and crying after the fight with Gatti. PBF was brilliant in that fight but IMO looked afraid in the ring and was super relieved when the fight was over as evidenced by his overflow of pent-up emotions.

In the Dirrell fight, DIrrell was also fighting brilliantly(with fear) and by the end of the fight when Arthur started connecting, Dirrell was starting to lose it. IMO decided to take the win by any means and did a bit of acting. But in the end, only he knows that for sure!

    :rofl

As Robert Stieglitz said, Abraham is a carefully crafted German media hype job.
