I wish you were right on that point, but it's left to be seen. He did decent body work on Clottey but wasn't really able to land anything very significant.

He barely went to the body with Margarito, though, and I think it was one of the things that cost him the fight.

IMO, Pac will stop cotto regardless of weight. and i don't think cotto will be able to lure pac to slug it out because as we all know, pac is known to stick with the pre-fight fight plan and listens to roach in between rounds for in-fight adjustments. and cotto will be slow on the backfoot avoiding or countering the lightning fast pacquiao darting in and out of cotto's range..

to date, i have seen 7 fights of cotto and his defense is not by any means solid or airtight. cotto has good fundamentals but very hittable and his defense will not be enough to avoid pac's clean, precision power punches. and his stamina is also suspect as well.. if the whole fight is set to be on a fast and relentless pace where pac can showcase his continuous on-slaught and vaunted offense, cotto might possibly run out of steam and fade forcing the referee to stop the fight...

PAC will win easy UD, imo. He has the speed to beat Cotto to the punch and the agility to stay out of the way. It all depends on if PAC fights a smart fight. Him and Roach are good at producing fight plans and they'll do it again.

All I'm going to say is: It's pretty easy to make predictions on a forum based on what you see from a fighter but come fight night, everything changes. Look at Marquez vs. Pacquiao...Marquez is an excellent counterpuncher yet Manny kept landing that straight left over and over. Not the best example but you get where I'm going at. This is the most exciting matchup and I pray it gets made but it's too hard to say who will win. Will Manny's speed and awkward fighting style be too much for Cotto? Will Cotto use his jab more often to offset Pacquiao? Will Pacquiao be able to withstand Cotto's punch? Will Cotto's notorious stamina issue affect him? Will Cotto be able to withstand Pacquiaos punch? So many questions that need answering

pac's punches look telegraphed but truth is, it isn't. his straight left is the fastest in the business. it only looks that way because when he delivers it, he lunges forward.

these are the same questions that are raised in every fight figuring high profile to elite type of fighters. we can only speculate and there's no certainty in our picks for sure. be that as it may and based from both fighters' recent showings, i will still have to go with pacquiao though. and style-wise, pac has the competitive edge too.

cheers and i hope this fight gets made.:good

i disagree, manny imo hits harder then cotto, and cotto is underrated as far as counter-puncher goes, cotto's problem is sometimes he is too agressive.....

I see manny by KO as early as round 7

are you crazy?! :-( pac's straight left is one of the fastest and most accurate punches in boxing. the guy's a sharpshooter w/ uncanny timing especially with his left and his right is getting to that level too.
