Thats why i said for the idiots here - hypothetically and added in brackets (he will still lose when they fight anyway) :good What i said was true though :smoke
Hypothetically if Haye was 6'5 and could move like Sweat Pea he'd be the greatest fighter. In the real world, Wlad is 6'5, moves well for someone that size, and fights tall extremely well. Haye's getting smoked once Wlad starts dropping that big right hand.
I'm not saying he's only succesful because he's big, he is also a very talanted boxer who is very good at using his size unlike most others at the 6'6 240lb size. Please tell me how this is a bad post though, I have have been completely objective about him. Peter had him on ***** street less than six years ago. Perhaps I may be wrong about his stamina but who has really made him work recently? The guys he's been fighting are awful. Your basically just pissed off because I haven't said he is the greatest fighter of all time. The truth is like I said he would be competative in era's like the 90's, 80's and 60's but he wouldn't be top dog and yes MMA does have an effect on boxing, it effects PPV figures and it also effects the amount of people who take the sport up.
I'm not a fan of Wladimir Klitschko and his fans do overrate his ability. But he is a very competent and decent champion who has done very well in a weak era. His jab is excellent and his power decent. He is defensively good under Manny Steward and uses his size very well. Good champion but he is not in my Top 20 of all-time.
Im not a Klit fan, however i do admire Wlad, he came off some bad losses but has now stepped up and is ruling the division and is going in the right direction. If he stays on top for a few more years and beats Haye, Adamek then he will definitly silence the critics. The problem is 2 of the divisions best happen to be brothers I hope Manny does the same job with Cotto
Wlad is a great fighter, unfortunately the chronic nuthugging he receives from his fanboys leads to a lot of hate. Comparisons can be drawn with Calzaghe and his nuthuggers in that regard.
I thought the same thing about his stamina after the Purrity and Brewster losses. He was also breathing heavily against TOS. Today however I think he's much improved in that department. Recently he was chasing Chambers around the ring, firing dozens of power shots next to something like 50-60 jabs per round. Every round, for 12 rounds! You can't possibly do that if you're not top conditioned and if you have naturally weak stamina levels. Yes Steward had to yell at him to get him go in for the kill, but this wasn't a stamina issue at all. One of Wlad's recent sparring partners (forgot the name, I think he was British. Not Tyson Fury) said how Wlad's camp and preparation was the most diligent and professional he's ever seen. Daily schedule, diet, sparring, conditioning. Everything is optimized. I don't think the level of sophistication in his camps 10 years ago was anywhere close to this. The cumulative experience pays off. I'd agree with "gun shy" as a point for criticism, but stamina? No, not anymore. They worked on that and fixed it.
