Your list was cool bro! A little heavy on heavyweights for my liking but cool nonetheless.

Putting up a list is never easy because multiple people who know more than me are ready to challenge it and poke holes in it...and some will tell you how terrible and stupid it is!

Some are jokes, I thought you presented yours well and even though I disagree or would do it different I hope I didn’t over critique it...I learned a little bit during our back and forth and it lit the flame in me to revisit mine...but I am starting at flyweight since I know the least thereabouts.

    Peace

I like my list not agreeing with everyone's, and i disagree with them when it comes to heavyweights, so i gotta fight it out.

Ill admit there are people who know more than me here, especially anything south of heavyweight, my favorite division with my 4 favorite fighters (Marciano, Louis, Foreman and Walcott)

Im gonna stalk that flyweight post in search of knowledge

You have McClellan over Monzon? He has two good wins against Jackson would himself wasn't great at middelweight and was a weightclass above his best. Even guys like McCalum, Nunn and Toney did more at this weight from the same generation. His resume is extremely weak in comparison to any great middleweight. Never even unified the division was just a title holder.

Punchers in general tend to be overrated. LaMotta at 2 even though he lost to Marshall and only edged a way past his prime Holman Williams who himself has a notably better resume.

In fairness any top ten etc list is never gonna be universally agreed upon fair enough for attempting it.

Jackson was dominant at middleweight, and weighed the same as gerald.

Im just gonna say it even though itll get alot of controversy

Jackson and Mugabi are both better names than anything Monzon has on his list (though Jose Napoles and Nino Benvenuti are both good names)

Valdes and Briscoe trump those names easily IMO

Mugabi was totally shot when Gerald fought him Hagler destroyed the fight out of him he was never the same. A year before he met Gerald he got ko'd in one by Norris. That win means literally nothing the guy was completely done. Also Valdez and Briscoe would destroy that Mugabi and Jackson just as quick as G man did. In fact I would favor both of them over Gerald himself.

Monzon resume is unquestionably better then McCellan's. I know your fan of his I can see that in your posts but saying his resume is better then Monzon and stating a shot mugabi is better then anyone Carlos beat is crazy.

For example I believe with all of my heart that the Willie the worm Monroe (my favorite) that Beat Hagler is the best MW the world has ever seen!

But resume wise he can’t sniff a ATG list. Perhaps if McClellan had not suffered trauma in his loss he could have equaled some of these accomplishments. You can love his style without rating him among the best ever. In a hypothetical matchup you can make a case for him...accomplishment wise...I am not sure he is too 30-50 MW

Oh if this was just full bias blast Julian Jackson would be in the top 50 too

Also Willie Monroe lost to Hagler 2 times afterwards, how would you argue that he's the MW GOAT h2h?

Ah I knew that'd be controversial

Imo Mugabi wasn't completely shot, just somewhat past prime. Norris in his own right was a good fighter

No way that Valdez and Briscoe destroy the Hawk imo

I think I should better explain how I rate competition

Fighter 1: 10 wins against B class fighters

Fighter 2: 2 wins against A class fighters, 8 wins against C class fighters

Imo, Fighter 2 would have the better resume

That being said, Monzon over G-man is completely understandable and honestly I'm considering it right now. G-man probably isn't falling out of my top 50 anytime soon though

    .

Because IMO the first one he was prime....When they were both closest to thier zenith Monroe won...it is the only loss on Haglers record that he
Never disputed. I believe his words were that Monroe gave him a boxing lesson that night. Credit that he never gave to Watts or SRL

Who determines the class of opposition? If it is rankings fair enough...if it only names you recognize or value...well you would need a storehouse if knowledge across the eras, to have anything remotely fair or balanced.
