I think they way you're doing it, it'd be better to have the lowest rank at the top. So 50, then 49, then 48 etc.

Looks interesting, pretty hard to say.

I think McGovern should maybe be higher, hard to say. A featherweight beating Gans is an insanely good win, especially considering he fought as low as 116Ibs, but while it looks fairly legit in the video, a lot of people think it was a fix.

Boxrec claims that Gibbons got the news decision over Greb in one of their fights, but I know they aren't always spot on.

In fairness to Conn, he wasn't really fighting regularly, and I think he was pretty past it, by the time Charles and Moore were Light Heavyweights.

Nice to see Dempsey get credit, a hard one to assess, with the incomplete records.

First heavyweight to regain the crown, youngest lineal heavyweight of all time. Beat Archie Moore in 5 rounds, that has to count for something?

He's called nonpareil for a reason, many thought that, in his prime, he was unbeatable

Boxing has existed since Grecian times, bareknuckle was huge in America. Don't disrespect him with your assumptions, he was the best of his era.

There's actually some bronze age art depicting boxing, though AFAIK there's no text describing it, though there's a fair bit of undeciphered text. If it was continuous through the Greek Dark Ages is also another matter. Though it's pretty controversial if it survived through the middle ages, personally, I'm not convinced there's enough evidence to conclude either way. There is stuff on Russian boxing I haven't seen, but that'd also need to be shown to have come from ancient boxing itself, and to have a linage into modern boxing.

Nonpareil and Hopkins both never won against any good competition, however, Nonpareil dominated his bad competition, whereas Hopkins has losses to nobodies
