1. Floyd Mayweather Jr 2. Bernard Hopkings 3. Winky Wright 4. Manny Pacquiao 5. Jermaine Taylor 6. Miguel Cotto 7. Joel Casamayor 8. Ricky Hatton 9. Juan Diaz 10. Joe Calzague
true, but he did totally dominated Ouma, true didnt knock him out but totally domenated him, the fight against Spinks was horible, but still this is the guy that beat Hopkings twice and draw with Winky Wright... you gotta give him respect.
No Marquez brothers ? I can just about understand Diaz but Casamayor ? 1. Bernard Hopkins 2. Floyd Mayweather 3. Manny Pacquiao 4. Rafael Marquez and Juan Manual Marquez 5. Joe Calzaghe 6. Ricky Hatton 7. Winky Wright 8. Shane Mosely 9. Miguel Cotto 10. Jermain Taylor B-Hop with the lead since his win over Winky although nearly all of these placings will be different by the end of the year with nearly every single one of the top10 fighting. Floyd-Hatton Calz-Kessler Rafa-Vasquez Mosely-Cotto Pac-Barrera Taylor-Pavlik. Gonna be such a year
You have some nerve leaving both Marquez brothers off you P4P list :deal Especially since JMM is lighter than Pac....and schooled his ass.
I dont think Winky or Taylor are top 5 P4P anymore, but it aint too bad id have Calzaghe higher and bring in the Marquez bro's for Diaz and Casamayor though.
I don't think Wright or Taylor are top 5 anymore. Winky, while still a top 10 guy in my opinion, has lost a step and seems to be on the decline. Casamayor hasn't fought in a while and his last win over Chico isn't as impressive as Rafael Marquez's big stretch or JMM's win over MAB. I would have it something like this 1. PBF 2. Pac 3. B-Hop 4. Rafa 5. JMM 6. Hatton 7. Cotto 8. Calzaghe 9. Wright 10. Taylor Outside Looking in: Barrera, Mosley, Calderon, Kessler, Diaz, Casamayor, Klitschko, Mijares, Dawson
Good list. I would make a few alterations though. and I'll explain why. 1 PBF 2 Pac 3 Wright 4 JMM 5 Hopkins 6 Rafa 7 Calzaghe 8 Hatton 9 Cotto 10 Wlad I know exactly where your questions are going to be directed, so I'll just explain why Wlad is in the top 10, why Taylor isn't, and why Wright is above Hops after losing to him: Wlad: He deserves to be up there. He has showed tremendous resolve in coming back from his devastating losses and has visibly improved with each fight. He is the only current champ that is consistently KOing and beating his opposition in dominating fashion and has proven to take on the most difficult AVAILABLE opponents. Taylor: I gave this guy a tremendous amount of credit after his fights with Hopkins and Wright. He stepped up and fought the two best at or around his weight, possibly of this era and fought them to very tough fights and close decisions. I feel he went 1-1 with Hops and lost to Wright though. And since he has had two close and dissapointing fights against two naturally smaller men.....not a good way to keep you "P4P" standing. Wright: He was the smaller man. Period. He should still be fighting at 154lbs....NOT 170LBS. He was also winning the fight until he let himself completely gas out. Also, Hopkins rough-housing played a major part in Wrights stamina issues. P4P, Winky Wright is currently better than bernard IMHO. Look at it this way, at 154lbs who would have won? Noone because Hops can't make that weight, Hops can't even make 160 anymore. Those are the weights Wright should be fighting at. And at those weights, nobody can touch winky...I really believe that.
Mf'in B-Hop as #1? He lost 2x in the past 2 years... I love em, but he can't be #1. I know people will argue that B-hop one them all... yaddah yaddah, but obviously not enough to have never lost those belts. YOu GOTTA have Floyd on top man. Even if B-hop is #2, cus Winky/Pac was debatable #2 for the longest time. Other than that- I like your list.
I still think Wright beats ANYONE at 154 easily. The guy just made a mistake by fighting way above his natural weight. And even then, he pressured Hopkins. Hopkins obviously won the fight but that just shows you how much heart Wright has. I think until he loses or has a very bad outing, you have to put PBF at #1.
