whoever wins tonight my opinion on p4p will change, because if jmm wins he'll be no.2&if pac wins he'll be no.1,my current p4p is:

    1.mayweather
    2.calzaghe
    3.pacquiao
    4.cotto
    5.j m marquez
    6.vazquez
    7.haye
    8.pavlik
    9.hatton
    10.hopkins

whats your current p4p&how(if at all)will tonights fight change it?

hopkins should be higher and hatton shouldn't even be in the top 10

    My current p4p is

    Mayweather
    Calzaghe
    Pac
    JM Marquez
    Hopkins
    Vasquez
    Cotto
    Guzman
    R.Marquez
    Haye

10-20 Would be people like Mosley/Kessler/Pavlik/Taylor/Mijares/Hatton/Wright etc

I feel whoever wins tonight, Calzghe loses out and moves from number 2 to number 3, with the winner of Pac/Marquez moving to either 1 or 2 and the loser moving down a few places.

My feelings on having Mayweather at #1 are mixed. While his talent and ability is undeniable, he continues to avoid the top competition available and is now having nearly a year long break to concentrate on other things. It would be fair enough if say he was comming back to fight Mosley or Cotto, but he's fighting DLH again, someone who he's already beaten and no one has called for the rematch.

How can someone who consistantly avoids the best men in his division be called P4P #1 ? Well, if it keeps happening he's gonna lose his spot.

I would wait for the calzaghe fight before moving BHOP, and I agree on Hatton, he shouldn't be top 10

Depends on the victory... if it's a shutout or a shocking KO, I might think about putting the winner on the top of the list since - and only because - Mayweather is inactive and I don't think fighting Big Show (and boxing's Big Show in a rematch) is enough to stay up there... yep, it's a whole new year...

BUT! As I've previously said, the only one today who could, might match PBF's legal P4P#1 status is Joe Calzaghe because of his undefeated record* and great wins recently... but ONLY if he's gonna dominate BHOP and/or stop him... but I don't see that coming, I see an UD and a competitive Hopkins, 9-3 for Joe, or something like that.

But if Joe can put on a shocking performance (I don't care how old Hopkins is, he's just defeated then-p4p#3 Winky) it will prove that Calzaghe's just untouchable and can adapt and win against ANY style... aggressive (Bika, Mitchell, Lacy), pure (Kessler, Veit), very awkward (Salem, Bika, Hopkins), very tricky (Hopkins).

*It's not the 0 in the undefeated record, but the fact that if he can dominate Hopkins, it'll mean NO ONE WITH ANY STYLE has ever came close to defeat him... for that, he can be NO1 on my list... All of the rest has already shown that they got weaknesses AND some opponents could used that aginst them... so if Joe is dominant, can make a statement even bigger than in the Kessler fight, he's P4P#1 for me...

So to answer your Q, well, a dominant winner of tonight will probably move up (Pac is 4th, JMM is 5th on my list), but I think the 2nd place is the best the winner can get...

if the fight pans out exactly as i expect it to then obviously my p4p will not change.

    However:
    - if Marquez does better than expected he will move up
    - if Pac does alot better than expected he will take the first spot
    - if either fighter does worse than expected then he will move down accordingly.

I don't understand why your ranking will change regardless? If you have Pac ranked as the 3rd best fighter in the world, and Marquez as the fifth, then I assume you expect Pacquiao to win a close fight. If this happens then why would that make Pacquiao any better or Marquez any worse?

simple really.if pac wins he'd have beaten the guy who stylistically is his toughest opponent&if jmm wins he'd have beaten a top3 fighter.

hatton has been a p4per since tszyu&1 loss to the no.1 doesnt take him out of the p4p list in my opinion.i have him higher than hopkins bcoz hattons last win over castillo was more impressive than beating a weight drained tarver&over weight winky.

he was in the bottom 3 AFTER the Castillo win. He never cracked the top-10 by the Ring before that. After his loss, he has departed top-10 P4P status.

Tarver was the best LHW in the world, and Winky was 3rd P4P in the world the time those fights happened. JLC was more weight drained than Tarver...and following JLC's recent weight issues combined with his past weight issues, i'd say Hopkins had bigger wins.
