***** post. Clottey is a very good fighter, Breidis Prescott seems to be a good prospect. I don't know what your point is with this.

    Fair enough, I hadn't noticed.

I still have Hopkins in my personal top 10 p4p because I think that even in his last 5 fights, he has had 2 brilliant wins, and of the 3 losses, I think he only deserved to lose 1 of them.

Basically, he has won 2 of his last 3. Those 2 wins were a dominant win over the linear light-heavyweight champion after jumping TWO weight divisions to challenge him, and then he became the 1st man in 8 years to beat the supposed "best defence in boxing".

And I personally gave him the decision in the Calzaghe fight, I thought he sneaked it by a point or two, so by my ratings, he has won his last three on the bounce.

Even the 1 fight I do think he deserved to lose, against Taylor, he performed well in and was very unlucky not to get the decision.

Had Hopkins lost 3 of his last 5 in the way RJJ did (KO'd twice and widely outpointed once) then there is no way I'd have him in my top 10 - but that isn't the case at all. To just say "3 in 5" is a very reductive way of determining pound-for-pound. Juan Manuel Marquez has only won one of his last two - should that count against him? No, he is number 2 on merit because he was excellent and very unfortunate in the Pac fight.

I think Pavlik will beat Hopkins as B-Hop, despite the quality he showed in short flashes v Calzaghe, clearly now has problems with his stamina and energy. Once that happens, Hopkins will drop out of my top 10 - but not til then. He doesn't deserve to be out of there just yet. He is a master.
