Less on skill more on resume. It should be the other way around with a P4P list otherwise Pac would be #1 and the next 5 spots vacant but we all know he isn't a shadow of his former self and too high at 13. Horn in all honesty doesn't make 40. You couldn't possibly think he is better than Eubank, Jack, Jacobs, Brook, Linares and many others. Eubank too low Thurman too high and I can never see why Linares is overlooked. He is one of the most technically skilled fighters 3 division champ and hasn't lost in 6 years. I got him around 7.
Not sure if you pay as much attention as I do to CEJ, where's the proof of this mythical gastank you speak of? I see a guy that fights in spurts, he jumps in lands a flurry, and then stalks the ring like a panther trying to showboat to the crowd until his energy level goes back up, and then he launches another flurry. GGG fight every second of every round.
Nice job, well done. I don't even know the names of 50 boxers but then I don't have a six figure paying journalist job at a famous boxing site.
Saunders better crack your list if he beats Lemieux. Credit where it's due, one of the most underrated
Did you not see his jab last bout? Its not on GG's level, but I think Eubank is durable enough to last & like Froch to catch him later on and finish him off with one of those flurries you mentioned. He has them till the final bell, as did Froch. GG struggled with Chudinov, Eubank is Chudinov on speed. :/ If this was prime GG, I'd be on your side here, this is a faded one, who is ripe for taking out, just like Degale the other night.
I've been somewhat distracted, I was following the election results from Alabama tonight while responding to you, when I saw GG, my mind went right to Golovkin and not to Groves. If he beat Groves, he'll jump up to the teens.
I love Saunders, I'll have zero issue moving him way up, and I fully expect to be moving him up, since I think he UD's Lemieux.
Just a Q about your list, do you go with official results or your own? Like I saw you mention Ward would be number 1 on your list if he was still around, so I guess it must be the official scorecards... He never passed GGG for me after the robbery of the first fight, and the mugging in the next.
With Ward, I rate his wins over Froch, Kessler, Dawson, Abraham, Bika, Barrera over anything GGG has accomplished anyway, so I'd probably rank him higher than GGG regardless. That being said I lean official results.
Like I said before, Pac was still in my Top 10, and Horn beat him fair and square, the same Pac that beat Bradley and Vargas the preceding year. To be the man, you gotta beat the man, well, he beat the man, quite frankly he should be ranked higher than Spence based on that 1 win. Not to mention wins over Bailey, Funeka, Mueller, Pltnikov and especially El Mousaoui, who IMO is very underrated, are nothing to sneeze at either.
I really enjoy seeing Danny Garcia that low, could you not move him down a couple more slots (ie. off the list) and replace him with Bivol?
