JMM and the Mayweather camp (not Jr, yet) all gave it up for Pac. 99% of the media/fans/other boxers and athletes gave it to Manny. They even brought 5 different judges to re-score the fight.
I don't mind if Pac fans call it a win for him. That's perfectly fine. I just can't stand it when they say he DOMINATED Bradley based on: (1) Their true love for Pac (2) Being influenced by HBO's commentary I scored it 8-4 or 7-5 in favor of Pac. It's a damn shame Bradley doesn't get the credit he deserves. Did he do enough to win? In my book NO, but he was competitive and didn't get KTFO which was supposed to happen according to 90% of boxing fans. No robbery. No domination. Just a controversial or arguably bad decision.
Judges based it on boxing, while fans judged it on "who hits harder" pitty pat punches still score, just look at Joe Calzaghe.
I think everyone else is forgetting.. Manny made EVERYONE wait like 30 minuets longer cause he didn't want to come out.. not just the people paying for it, but the judges too. Sometimes when your **** doesn't stink.. you get some on your nose. This is how I feel.. actually those are my scores too. I scored it for Pac, but on more then 3 rounds I couldn't pick the two apart.. I actually gave those rounds to Pac based on "he's the champion" mentality.. which I really shouldn't have. It was NO Domination.. Sadly a lot of the people I work with like boxing... I regularly have to explain to them how you can't fight 1/3 of a fight and "win in dominating fashion"
TIM got the decison but Pac won the fight easy. Not at all close but Tim tried....thats the best I can do in giving him credit for his performance. I only watched the fight 3 times and all 3 times the fight ended up the same.....robbery.
How far ahead does one fighter need to be, for it to be considered... a Robbery? A 6-6 score couldn't be one that is even; Would you consider 7-5? 8-4? 9-3? 10-2? Cause personally I wouldn't call a fight a Robbery until one fighter clearly won 9 or 10 rounds. Bad decision? That is more of a 8-4 or 7-5 type fight.. Words like Robbery are thrown around too much.. it'll make them lose some of their luster if we keep abusing them like that.
Joe Calzaghe was different, he would land a gazzillion of them and they would cause damage with accumulation, look at Lacy and hopkins fight. Bradley was just touching Pac's face with his glove. Put it this way, If pac is the agressor lands 6 hard power punches, and Bradley is slipping here and there reducing pac's punch output % while landing let's say 15 pitty pat punches, who wins the round in your eyes??
If its a 12 round fight and you struggle to find 3 of even 4 rounds to give to the man who ends up winning.....its a robbery. I agree the word robbery is thrown around far too much however....Tim vs Pac is the perfect example of what a robbery really is......so shady LL vs Holy....Burton vs Augustus.....Casa vs Santa Cruz..ect.. when fights are compeitive, close and a back/forth kind of scrap where an unpopular decison is read....that's when using the word "robbery" is not justified.
I thought Bradley did enough to win and didnt cry foul when the cards were read Bradley to me seemed to dictate most of the rounds and Manny would try to flurry away and steal them Bradley swept the end and i thought did enough early on to take it it looks bad cause he doesnt have much pop and did very little damage but he got it right with a lot of subtleties and little things he did basically he won on points but didnt really beat Manny in the sense that it takes for a guy to earn the win in the view of the public people like closure and people like stand out performances,,,Bradley barely won and because of that its not good enough had Bradley cut or bruised or wobbled or dropped him and dominated there would be no argument but since he won the way he did many people and the media are not gonna give him his dues
