My Pacquiao-Bradley Preview & Prediction: Has Pac lost his "Killer Instinct"?

    For those who care to read it and be enlightened by my almighty wisdom (and conveniently forget the fact I ever penned a piece called "De La Hoya will inevitably beat Pacquiao"), here it is.

    There are many things to consider when trying to determine a winner in Saturday night’s mega bout showdown between Manny Pacquiao (54-3-2, 38 KOs) and Timothy Bradley (28-0, 12 KOs). With so many questions surrounding Pacquiao following his controversial victory in his third bout against Juan Manuel Marquez last November, and Bradley being such a young, hungry, and determined fighter, this might well have the makings of a “perfect storm” scenario that could enable Bradley to score the upset. On the other hand, Pacquiao has always had difficulty with the future Hall of Fame Mexican. All three of their contests were extremely close and disputable. So this could also turn out to be the type of favorable match-up where Pacquiao once again comes across looking like Superman, as he has so many times before. So which will it be? In all likelihood, as is so often the case when viewing two polar extremes, the truth is probably lies somewhere in between.

    Pacquiao’s struggles last time out against Marquez came as somewhat of a surprise. Despite the fact they had already had two razor-close battles in lower weight classes, the common perception was that Pacquiao had improved too much and become naturally too big for the 38 year old Mexican. The last time Marquez ventured north of lightweight was to face Floyd Mayweather Junior. In that fight he looked soft, slow, and lacked the power and speed to remotely compete with Floyd. Against Pacquiao, however, he appeared strong, bulky, muscular, and used impeccable timing and counterpunching technique that rocked Pacquiao throughout the contest. Indeed Marquez actually looked bigger than Pacquiao! It was almost ironic that after beating up one big guy after another, it would take a smaller man in the form of an old nemesis to finally make Pacquiao look human again.

    yes he's no longer 100% committed it's pretty obvious at this point of his career. but i still pick him to win due to experience and natural talent.

    Nah, it was a good read. I'm still unsure of who the victor will be though. One thing I do know, Pac is not knocking Bradley out.

    Eventually Every top fighter has to pay the Randall (Piper).
    I have a strong feeling tommorow will be PAC's "Randall" fight.

    Really good.

    I just don't like how PAC has become all Jesus freak. That inherently makes you a softer fighter. He s lost that ferocity as seen in the Mosley fight..

    Do that **** after your out of boxing. Congressman,evangelist and boxer. If he can juggle all three, it's certainly an amazing feat.

    Pads gotten older and has lost that killer edge. It was bound to happen

    Agree. That shot from Kendall Holt would have knocked out most fighters. Bradley recovered almost immediately. Dude has a chin.

    Good read.

    If Pac is 100% motivated and still hungry, he may blow Bradley out in a few rounds. If he is not fully there, I see him winning a decision.

    I just don't see how Bradley can win this fight. Pac is too fast and strong. Bradley may make it competitive, but he doesn't have the counter punching and accuracy to outbox Pacman.

    he showed it in the Cotto(e) fight. only problem was he's not a good finisher

    1 fight out of 6 fights at 147, majority of these opponents were finished at the time as well, he doesn't stop Bradley, not a live wire.

    The last time i saw a truly ferocious pacquiao was the 2nd Marquez fight. In the third fight Marquez still fought his excellent fight but pacquiao at times was not interested.
