My Pacquiao brethren, I have returned to predict Manny vs Margo (and Haye vs Audley)

My Pac brothers,

I believe that Manny is going to turn in yet another sensational performance to defeat Antonio Margarito around 117-109 on points, and yet further underline the fact that he is a weight-jumping ATG miracle and the current pound-for-pound King of the world.

This will be Manny's hardest fight since the rematch with Marquez in my opinion, but I'm still backing him to win 9-3 on rounds, with a knockdown and the final round being 10-8 in his favour. (specific enough for ya? No fence-sitting here.)

Margarito has massive advantages in height and reach, and these factors are too significant to be completely written off. In addition to this, I expect Manny to be 147-149lbs in the ring, and Margo to be around 160-168.

To any other aggressive fighter, a fight against an equally aggressive guy 10-20lbs heavier than you is a suicide mission. But we already know that Pac is a bit special.

I expect this to be the best version of Margarito since the Cotto fight. I expect him to be the fittest and most determined Antonio Margarito that he can possibly be. I expect him to hurt Manny more than once, I expect him to win 3 rounds (which sounds like not much, but when was the last time Manny lost 3 rounds in the same fight?!), I expect him to seriously, seriously bring it.


But, ultimately, he is in the ring with an ATG phenomenon. Manny is much faster, much more skilful, much more intelligent. He is easily as tough as Tony, both physically and mentally.

In short, I am expecting fireworks, a Fight Of The Year contender with some truly, truly spectacular rounds. But ultimately, the p4p#1 will gradually overwhelm his opponent with speed, volume, and quality. Margo will get dropped, but will get up and survive. In the last round, it will be target practice as Manny goes all out to get the stoppage and Margarito clings on for dear life.

He will make the final bell... just. But it will be a 10-8 round. A fitting end to yet another chapter in the career of the greatest fighter since Pernell Whitaker.

I'd love to see a Pac KO/TKO, but I fancy Margo to make the bell... though he'll be in a bit of a mess by the end.
