i wanna know what you experts tyhink of my mates 3rd fight, semi pro fihgt starts at 3:08, he broke his arm by a leg kick, not sure which one cause he only found out next day, possibly when he gets knocked down, but he wins by a guillotine [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRcEQxytNvM[/ame]
He did ok for someone just starting out. He should get some hands and learn how to Box. He should work on his all around fundamentals. Kicking with his hands low is dangerous and can get him knocked out. He should also pivit on his kicks. He should be turning to generate more power as he looks to slam his shin into his opponents leg or rib cage. Kicking as he does in this vid won't hurt anyone. He should also keep his hands up at all times.
well appreciated al tell him... hes an ex amateur boxer... but yeah, he won the fight, but broke his arm, assuming its from that leg kick after he gets up, but yeah he already had plates etc. from b4 and the kick just knocked them out of place. by the way, hes 3-1, his first fight he lost against a guy via choke that already had 2 semi pro wins by KO... and amateur here=3 rounds, no hitsd above the neck, semi pro is basically regular rules but no gorund and pound to the face... as fasr as I can tell. no soccer kicks and no hits to the face when ur on ur back...
No hits above the neck:blood And this is semi pro? I know of amatuer organization's that allow striking to the head and face. Some organiztions fight with headgear and some don't. Like Asylum Fight League. They're amatuer and they allow strikes to the head & face. And no headgear either. What state does your friend live in? Maybe the rules are different out there. But still none the less if it's semi pro it should allow strikes above the neck. Amatuer or semi pro let people figure out more times than not if they can handle being a fighter. If their are no strikes above the neck then what is he really learning?
No... amateur fights are no hits above the neck, semi pro is no soccer kicks and no g n p to the face.... i think, i woudlnt quote me on that. he trains under team jigoku, all around fighting since 1985 hahah im thinking of joinjing there club soon?
this is the unofficial rules of scotland (dont know if its the same for the rest of UK?)... so they dont really ahve any histoiry and are probably made up on the spot
personally, im glad thees an amateur circuit set up here otherwise people would be getting Koed left right and centre?
aye well we dont just throw peopel into get there heads kicked in by people hahhaha. saftey safety safety...
amatuer fights are soemthing lacking in the US.... should be mandatory for wannabe fighters(you knwo the ones) the no htis above the neck rule basically means no KOs... almosta grappling match with strikes?
I understand safety. If they're trying to be safe then they should have them wear head gears. A fight isn't a fight if their aren't any blows to the face. Up & comers or wannabe fighters don't learn that way. Amatuer MMA fight with headgear [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MladoNLOIbc[/ame]
I know its not truly a fight but what I meant was (sorry I was drunk last night) I think they want people do have good fundamental ground game before going to a full fight. But like I said, these rules aren't official, people can fight at pro level straight away if they like (he had one fight at amateur before moving up to semi pro) it's just soemthing set up so young guys can work there way up to full fights. oh and yeah, he could hit above the neck in that fight, just no g n p to the head
there was striking allowed above the neck in this fight, I was just laying out the rules around here... amateur fights have no hits above the neck, semi pro doesnt allow g n p to the head... and in his first fight he was learning how to grapple and kick (albeit like you said, not too well), as well as being eased into one on one fight situations. Im pretty sure that counts for soemthing?
