Erm, compared to Pavlik's last fight? How unimpressive can a 120-108 shut out be? Plus, I said P4P. The Guzman from the Soto fight would P4P beat any version of Kelly Pavlik. Speed, power, great skills, good chin, he's got everything.
well i favor pavlik over AA at 160...he is a natural middle.. i had him around 6 prior to the bernard hopkins fight..his stock obviously diminishes but still enough for me to favor him against AA...Hopkins-Pavlik that is the only time when a lower ranked p4p fighter is favored to win over a higher ranked p4p fighter.. .can you think of other cases wherein a lower ranked fighter is favored to beat a higher ranked fighter? now if caballero would fight Juanma today then im sure that Juanma would be favored. but Juanma is ranked higher than CC by yahoosports..
other than the hopkins-pavlik fight.. can you think of other cases wherein a lower ranked fighter is favored to beat a higher ranked fighter?
Pavlik was ranked higher than Hopkins prior to the fight? Only by idiots maybe. Margarito beat Cotto when nowhere near the top 10.
the ring had hopkins at 4, izzy at 5, margarito at 6...pav at 7 hopkins held the #2 ranked JC into a close decision so the should not be miles away from JC...the recent accomplishment of the two are close and they fought a close fight so it makes sense to put bhop in the top 5
Don't worry. I misunderstood. I think you ment other than Hopkins- Pavlik was there an instance where a lower ranked fighter beat a higher ranked fighter, implying that Hopkins was ranked lower than Pavlik. Anyway, he was only really favoured by Pavlik fans and the betting sites and that. Those of is in the know-how knew Hopkins was going to beat the ****er to pieces.
i mean favored in the betting odds... it is only one time (Bhop vs Pavlik) where a lower ranked fighter(Pav) is favored to win over a higher ranked fighter(bhop) the odds then was 3-1 closing in almost 4-1... forget pac-dlh that just goes to show that p4p is more of perception rather than recent accomplishment
p4p for me is perception...can't blame me, there is only one fight that contradicts that... i just stupid for me to see a #6 fighter is favored to beat a #3 guy..
